Speculative Sky

Astrophysicist April Mullen has just been hired to monitor the deepest reaches of outer space. In this small outpost filled with scientists, she notices something amiss. Though the idea of searching for extra-terrestrial contact is permitted the practice of doing so is not encouraged. Not satisfied with the status quo, April decides to forgo the warnings of her superiors to make contact with the inhabitants of that speculative sky.

I am an author of science fiction, paranormal romance, military science fiction and interracial and multicultural fiction.

In the near future I hope to write a fantasy novel and a contemporary fiction novel.

This story reminds me a little of “The Invaders” episode from the original Twilight Zone. It’s a steady little story in which the strange little requests made by April’s employers add just enough “oddness” to make one expect something sinister. The reader keeps expecting it, and when it happens…it’s the kind of shock to make you wonder whether to laugh or be terrified.

A great little story. Looking forward to longer ones, Clare.
