Magnolia Belle grew up in a military family and has lived in several U.S. states as well as the Orient. She graduated in 1978 from Tarleton State University, where, as editor of the University paper, she won first place in the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Editorial competition in 1977. She was also a member of "Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities" in 1977-78. She currently lives in Texas with her husband and their (spoiled) dogs.

A singer/songwriter and guitarist, she played with a band in the 1980s that made 3 albums. Belle proudly declares some Native American heritage. The above two facts are part of the basis of the Black Wolf series. Considering herself a native Texan, her T'on Ma and Black Wolf series are both set in that great state.

Black Wolf: Loco Lobois the second book in this series by Magnolia Belle that I've read and is the fourth in her series about these fascinating brothers.

Loco Lobo brings readers into the world of Joaquin Black Wolf, the drummer in the band he and his brothers have. I was drawn into the book from the blurb and right from the first page was hooked. Loco Lobo is a compelling story that will captivate the reader from page one until you turn the last page and then you will want more.

In this book, you will follow Joaquin as he tries to get over the pain of loss which is devastating to him. I'm not ashamed to say that I cried a couple times. He is a strong character and he wonder as the book goes along if he will recover from the loss he has suffered. Will the help of his family, of prayer, and the love of a new woman be enough to get this man over the hurdles that loss and death are causing him to see and feel? I won't spoil the book by saying. Read it.

All of the characters, new and old, are written in a way that readers will relate to. You will adore the Black Wolf brothers. Isabel, the new lady who comes into Joaquin's life, was wonderful to read and you pull for it to have a happy ending between the two.

This is another wonderful book by Magnolia Belle and I can't wait to read the others in this terrific series.

Haunted by his fiancée’s tragic death, Joaquin Black Wolf tries desperately to mask his pain by joining a second band as drummer. Yet nightmares and sudden flashes of his inner pain cascade through his life like a mid-summer’s storm through a desert town.

Struggling to defeat his demons on his own terms, Joaquin desperately seeks answers from within himself, pushing his friends and family away. When love enters his life again he finds himself awash in his fears and catastrophic memories.

I must admit this is my first foray into the romance genre and I was a bit wary about reading a romance novel. Magnolia Belle dispelled any prejudices I may have had with a wonderful, almost lyrical, style of writing. Loco Lobo’s characters are fully realized and the dialogue is natural and unforced, like having coffee with a good friend. Belle’s descriptive phrasing draws you in—you can picture Joaquin and his band playing passionately on stage or quarreling from bruised egos—and captures your heart.

Brilliantly written, Loco Lobo has opened my eyes to whole new genre, and I like what I see. Belle has a real hit on her hands with the forth book in the Black Wolf series, Loco Lobo.

Joaquin Black Wolf is in a pretty bad way a year after the death of his fiancée. He's drinking a lot, trying to forget. He decides that a better, more constructive way to try to forget is to work all of the time. So, in addition to his own successful band, he joins a new bar band as their drummer.

The girl singer is sweet on him, of course. And another band member, who is sweet on the girl singer, hates him.

And then there's AustinBel, the girl he talks to in the Black Wolf fan forum.

The book was entertaining, but my big hang-up was this: Joaquin is 21 years old (his 22nd birthday party is one of the events in the book). Does anyone seriously get engaged at age 20 these days? I could not get past Joaquin's age when it came to a number of matters that arose in the tale. Otherwise, it was a good contemporary romance story set against the backdrop of the music business.

Loco Lobo by Magnolia Belle was a fun read. Though I am not one to readily read a romance novel, I have been impressed by her other works and decided to give this one a shot. And I was not disappointed. Magnolia gives life to her characters, and you will surely find yourself drawn into her world. Who knew that playing in a band could cause so much heart ache, and yet could complete one’s self with just the pound of a drum.

It was well written and this one at least at a HEA ending although a rushed one... But still, in my personal opinion the author damaged the series by deviating from the romance of the first two books to so much drama and suffering in the last two.
