Four talented authors bring four unique settings for romance to life in one beautiful American state. Cheer for four modern Missouri couples--"Carson and Serena, joined to aid a pregnant teen; Tom and Esther, attracted to each other but aiming for separate goals; Alex and Julie, working together on his daughter's education; Dan and Carlee, sharing a love for ice skating--"whose faith is challenged even as love makes its entry. Can love endure through the pressures arising from life's daily challenges?
An older book, but good stories by four talented authors. Well written, but my one complaint was the main character drawn to a non-Christian love interest. Falling in love with a person and then hoping they’d become Christians was in two of the stories.
Whoa! This was a CHRISTIAN romance book...and they gave NO warning...YUKKK!!! It's fine for you to write Christian books all day, but at least give those of us who DO NOT want to read cult books a chance to skip it! (I read two of the stories, and they were sexist!!). Two strikes!
Well despite the very biased complaint of one naysayer, it was pretty good. This coming from me , a woman who enjoys a story with an intriguing adventurous story every now and then.
Besides with this being an omnibus full of stories I wanted to read but couldn't find this was a win-win.
Story 1 reeled me in and several sections genuinely felt like a Mary Higgins Clark novel. Plus it showed a teenager making a choice for herself trying to break free from bluntly, an overbearing Karen of mother with the support of secondary charactersand the main one. Then someone begins creeping around causing trouble, and that's when things get tense and more questions about the situation pops up.
Story 2 was a cute wholesome story about a woman finding love unexpectedly at age forty. That's nice and all but didn't grab my attention entirely.
Story 3 had the crazy makings of a romantic drama series from my hometown. A young woman jaded about love and romance altogether (especially due to quarreling parents- particularly a nasty mother) finds true love one of the last places she expected to find.
Story 4 didn't entirely grab me but it has a good premise.
And if people don't like these kind of love stories just because they're from a christian love stories anthology, that sounds like a "them" problem, not mine.
