Farmer Pig is having a very busy day. He needs a helper. Charlie Cat can help. Or can he? Time after time, Charlie causes hilarious mayhem as he tries to assist with milking the cow, watering the garden and clearing the table.
While strengthening their word recognition skills, early readers will laugh at the exploits of the hapless pig and cat, and learn that everyone makes mistakes sometimes.

Well, I'm not quite sure that Charlie Cat has earned the title of WORST Helper Ever, but he is undeniably ham-handed. I like how the end of the story points out how everyone has their moments now and then and we all make mistakes. This is something we could all do well to remember more often.
Easy Fiction Pre-k to Kindergarten This book has a simple plot line. It has cute illustrations and story line. I think it would be good for young readers because it is quick and easy but still entertaining.
Reading this book to my Kindergarten class was the cutest thing ever. They were able to anticipate what was next and what the person did wrong that was helping Farmer Pig. I enjoyed seeing their minds move and watching them as they developed better reading habits. It was great! Good repetitious book for younger children.
My son is obsessed with Peppa Pig and her family, and here, I insert "Daddy Pig" instead of "Farmer Pig" and we both think it's hilarious. Charlie Cat is not a very good helper, and neither is Pig at the end, either. A fun book for a 4-year-old.
