I’d pretty much given up on family. Raised in the foster system, I’ve always been on my own and thought it would be that way forever.

But now I have a new cat shifter pride, I’ve been reunited with the father who never knew I existed, and I have a new love -- my Alpha, Anthony Holder.

Anthony is my fated mate, and I’m drawn to him like I’ve never been to another person. Our bond is hot and irresistible, and for the first time I see a future no longer marred by loneliness and solitude.

But the rogue shifter who bit me is still out there, and he’s bent on vengeance against the Alpha, and everyone in the pride. If we don’t track him down before he strikes again, more innocents could be at risk, and that bright future could drift away before it even begins.

Not to mention, an even bigger threat lurks on the horizon . . .

The good
+ Maury finding a family
+ Maury's cheetah and Anthony's panther frolicking and playing
+ Maury teasing Laura about her relationship with Kobie
+ Anthony having no issues

The neutral
o In the first book, Maury researched shifter bonding and mating. And she asked the very important question: "Did Anthony like to have his belly rubbed?" This question has not been answered!
o The worldbuilding is still very confusing to me, and it feels like I'm expected to have prior knowledge about how everything works

The bad
- Maury was the most useless person ever. Anthony kept forbidding her to do anything, and she accepted it every time. Then, the one time she refused, she was brought into a situation they knew was a trap and would result in battle. And what happens during the battle? "I could only watch with my hand over my mouth." What the fuck are you even doing there, Maury?
- Anthony literally said: "You would have been a liability." The relationship between Anthony and Maury was not equal at all - Anthony made all the decisions and talked down on Maury, and Maury was a doormat. Also, while it made sense that Maury couldn't do much fighting, it didn't make sense at all that they didn't bring Maury, their best tracker and someone who had survived in the bayou for two years without the pride's best tracker noticing, on their missions to the bayou
- Maury had been part of the pride for a while now, and she was the one who was in the most danger. Yet nobody thought it was a priority to get her a cell phone. Hell, she didn't even have a code to the touchpads that would get her into the saferooms! (Not that anybody had told her how to find the entrances to those saferooms, anyway)
- Anthony hardly communicated with Maury and kept her out of the loop a lot of the time. Honestly, Maury should have just left his sorry ass and found someone who would treat her as an equal
- They decided not to tell everyone they were fated mates, while also deciding to tell everyone they were fated mates, but not immediately, and then suddenly they told everyone anyway, and I am confused
- If they were willing to take on all the rogue shifters because none of it was their fault, why were they such assholes to Maury back when she was just a rogue? She was in exactly the same situation
- The plot was so confusing. I have about a million unanswered questions

Anthony is not the man I thought he was. In fact, he's just an asshole. Then there's the fact that I have no idea what's going on, and I doubt the third book can answer all of my questions. I won't be reading the final book in the series anymore, as this one just left me feeling really frustrated. I would not recommend this book.

A couple of spelling mistakes, a few pronoun mistakes and several past vs present tense mixups, plus the wrong words being used.... (here instead of hear for example).

I don't feel fated mates is well defined or explained. We get a lot of info from several sources in the books. It would be nice for everything to be explained plainly, whatever the characters know.

It is also unclear how long lifespans are for shifters. Especially with fated mates having gone 'extinct'. There were a couple spots where the book says its been ~100 years since fated mates stopped/went extinct. But Anthony is (if I remember from book #1 correctly) ~100 years old...
Soooo is 100 years really that long of a time? Wouldn't there still be original pairs of fated mates still alive? I feel like the time line wasn't well thought out.

More inconsistencies as the book goes on. On page 170 Anthony is told he needs to meet at a specific location, that he already knows the whereabouts of. Then on page 240 he is given an address to meet at and he acts like he doesn't already know where the meeting place is located. Even Kobie acts like he doesn't know.

Also at no point in book 1 or 2 is it even implied that the shack that Maury was attacked in had an address. It's always been described as a shack out in the bayou. Now suddenly it has an address that Maury recognizes and knows?

How is it possible that Maury has gone this long being in so much danger but no one getting her a cellphone?

Why do I feel that there is world building knowledge I should already have to understand what is going on?

Where on earth was the editor? What happened to the alpha or beta readers??

I don't think I'll be continuing the series, the inconsistencies and spelling errors were really off-putting for me.  Do not reccomend this series.

I couldn’t finish the book and I honestly really tried…
Ok so first off I liked the first book, it had a good story line however it did not flow at parts and I honestly just skipped passed it cause the story line was still interesting. Now once I finished the first I contemplated reading the next and ultimately decided I would. Now I’m regretting the choice. This book was worse than the first. It honestly seems like it’s a rough draft of the book and no one went through to read it and make edits. There’s a whole chapter that I felt should have been moved up one and no to mention that this book does not flow at all, I was 70% into this book where I just had to stop since, seriously if the author had this book re-edited it would be a really good book.

This is the second book in the series. Anthony, Maury, and his team find out who the rogue is that is killing people. The rogue wants Maury and they do not understand why. Meanwhile Anthony and Maury's relationship develops so far and fast that they become fated mates. Since fated mates have not been around for a long time they need to figure out what it means. In the meantime, they need a plan to capture or kill the rogue. Ty his best tracker is captured by the rogue. They story is about how they capture or kill him the rogue and who is next to threaten the pride. Be forewarned this is also a cliff hanger at the end.

Loved it. Maury is growing into her own confident self with Anthony right by her side. Now she has the family she's always been missing. But Darius is still hunting for Maury and Anthony will do whatever it takes protect her. Only Maury isn't willing to be kept protected on a shelf. She wants to fight along side Anthony. Can't wait for book 3.

Although I expected the second book to start from a different point of view of the death where book 1 ended but no. It just began like any other day as Maury is trying to learn to enjoy being part of the pride all while taking it in stride being fated mates with Anthony. I was slightly annoyed that a lot of things about certain matters were either glazed over, poorly explained or not given enough information to grasp the ideas. Hopefully book 3 is a little better.

I only put this book aside long enough to get some chores done. Up until the very last page, it was engaging and mesmerizing. This book is at least equal to Night Huntress. The changing POV is well done, and clear. An excellent read and highly recommended.

I’m so curious about the obsession Darius has with Maury. I feel like there’s still so many unanswered questions after reading this book. I again did not expect the ending. I still like Maury and Anthony as a couple. I wish we got to see more of Maury and her dad’s family connecting.

This is a great continuation as we see Maury find her place within Anthony’s pride but will he let her join the others and fight when the time come for it? It’s exciting, gripping and pulls you in from start to finish as we see Maury start to grow in confidence and learn to live in the pride. We have questions that I hope will be answered in book three and I look forward to reading more.

strong sequel in the Urban Jungle Shifters series, it had everything that I enjoyed from the first book. It had a great concept and I enjoyed how good SK Prince's writing was. I'm excited to read more in this universe and from the author.

I was not fully taken by this last volume. I think something is missing in the relationship between the main characters, and it made the book loose its momentum. But I was happy to have a conclusions, it never is good to be left hanging!

Interesting

I don't usually read this kind of book, but I thought what the neck Ill try it. It was an interesting read to be sure. I'm not sure if this kind of book is something that i`ll keep reading but it was a fantasy type of read. It was written well and the characters were well defined.

Loved it

Great book, good read. It does not seem to hold together at times. I just needed to suspend my disbelief and move on.
I bought book 3 and look forward and to more great reading.
