You've learned a lot about the trees and wildflowers that grow in the woods around campus. When it's time for an overnight camping adventure in the woods, you lead the way. But when you and a few friends get lost in the thick of the forest, can you find your way back? Do you follow the sun? Search for the stream? Or listen to your friends and sit tight, waiting to be found? As daylight fades, you'll have to make some smart decisions, like when it's time to lead and when it's time to follow.
Fork in the Trail is one of my favorites of the InnerstarU books. The concept of a hiking trip lends itself well to the choose-your-own-adventure format, and the mentions of some of the potential dangers of hiking give the decisions a little more weight than just the friendship drama that's the focus of some of the other books in this series. There are some seriously good lessons about how to be a good leader here, too. There were a few things that bothered me--some minor inconsistencies between parallel storylines, an online code for a bonus ending that doesn't work anymore, and a mention of "Native Americans so many years ago" (like they don't exist now?) that felt especially odd coming from AG. Still, I enjoyed the book overall. (I also was startled at one point to find a bit of paper with one of my drawings tucked into this library copy! I haven't checked out this book in years! I guess it hasn't circulated much!)
i really liked the concept of making your own decisions and seeing how it all worked out in the end. i remember enjoying this as a kid. i had a lot of nostalgia while reading this.
I like it because its based on yourself. You and Paige are going to lead a trail. You get to pick.I like how you get to choose the questions.I like the book.
