This is an easy to read book about how the FED works. If you've ever heard the news talk about the FED and interest rates, but didn't understand, then this is the book for you. Again, very easy to read, with lots of pictures.

Good simple book on the overview of economic indicators. It is a bit of a textbook type read but if you are looking to understand the economic reports that come out each month, what they mean for the bond and stock market, and a short chapter or two on how the fed tries to control the economy.
