I don't know whether I actually have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or not. It is difficult to diagnose and it is a fairly newly acknowledged condition. But, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia years ago and treatment for it has been only intermittently helpful. As a result of my various symptoms I have been worked up for everything from Lyme Disease to Epstein-Barr, Lupus to MS. Mercifully, none of those work ups revealed anything definitive. So, as my pain and fatigue continue with a kaleidoscope of other symptoms and issues, I continue to investigate other possibilities and if they have commonalities with my experiences, I dig deeper and try out their protocols to see if anything helps. Earlier this year, I went down the Anti-Inflammation Diet rabbit hole and discovered that following the diet really DID improve my joint pain and swelling. I feel significantly and quantifiably better when I follow it. But, I still suffer from fatigue and flat out exhaustion that routinely leaves me unable to get out of bed on average two to three days per week - sleeping. It is not acceptable.

I read through Prousky's entire book before I tried any of the suggestions. Many supplements are recommended for each group of symptoms/issues addressed in the book. I began following one of the protocols that covered the issues I find most bothersome. I decided to implement a couple of the suggestions first so that I could determine which supplements, if any, actually helped. After a month of seeing gradual albeit slow improvement of my symptoms, I added on another supplement that is recommended. And, this is the method that I am employing to use this book.

Prousky's advice is well researched and heavily notated with references to peer-reviewed scientific journal articles. The supplements he recommends are not proprietary or brand specific. The protocol's he provides are fully explained and include recommendations for how to know when a suggestion is not working and direction to stop it.

I've discovered that this book is one of a series that has been written. Each volume covers a different medical condition. As I continue to try the different protocols recommended for CFS, I am also passing on what I am learning to my various medical providers who are seeing the results of my self-experimentation and asking how the improvements in my health have happened, during the Covidity of all times.

I highly recommend reading this book if you and/or a loved one has or is suspected of having CFS. More knowledge is better. Always.

This book about treating CFS has as its first step - do less (lifestyle modifications), perpetuating the stereotype of CFS-it is the individual’s problem, they are obviously doing it to themselves, they just have to do less. Not helpful at all.
