This was a very powerful book. Sister Briege McKenna is surely a saint in the making. I would love to hear her speak one day...or even just be in her presence! Some thoughts I received from this book:
Miracles do happen, but not always right away. And not in the way you would think, expect, or want. Sometimes miracles are simply a feeling of peace that comes over us, an acceptance. Which is what came over me this past week when I took my mom to her doctor’s appointment. It’s been a constant worry, but we found the building no problem, there was one parking space left in the crowded parking lot which seemed to be saved just for us, and everyone in the office was polite and caring. I want to continue knowing and accepting that everything in the long run will be all right with God’s presence and grace.
Sister Briege distinguishes between miracles that happen right away and healings that may be an ongoing process.
Baptism in the Spirit tells me we need to understand the power of the sacraments.
Jesus is in the Eucharist. It is so easy to forget how wonderful this is!! We meet Jesus every time we receive the Eucharist. Being away from mass because of the pandemic makes me miss receiving Jesus. I hope that receiving spiritual communion is just as powerful.
We must put Jesus first even though we may unknowingly at first put worldly things, though important, first.
