In 2021, I started illustrating my own children's stories and publishing them on Amazon. Frankly, I got tired of trying to find a traditional publisher or agent! I am a classically-trained artist, but have been experimenting with illustrations using digital watercolor/collage techniques.

I am especially focused on creating books that feature diversity. I'm hoping to encourage kids to accept all kinds of people as "normal"!

I have been teaching Canadian culture to newcomers to Canada for more than twenty years. I wrote "101 Secrets of Canadian Culture" to share those secrets with a wider audience.

Other than that, most of my stories and paintings come to me in dreams. "Coyote Summer" and "Ex-Betty" both started as extremely vivid dreams! (Ex-Betty was a Quarter-Finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novels contest.)

I used to be a newspaper reporter and have had some of my poetry published in an anthology.

I am also a visual artist and love to upcycle furniture and home décor items.
