The secrets are coming out and the gloves are coming off
Make sure your hands and feet are inside the vehicle and all loose items are secured because this is one heck of a ride. You want to know about old school family trees? Done. Find out about hidden government agendas? You betcha. Info on the elusive husband? Sure thing. Updates from our missing friends? Oh yeah. And escalation of the Chinese conflict? As they say, boom goes the dynamite. It’s the type of book arc dreams are made of. All the elements coming together from threads reaching as far back as the first ten books. This is what I am here for all day long.
My only criticism is that I think some of siennas choices that moved the conflict along were clearly poor choices that lent more of a horror film, don’t say you’ll be right back vibe that I don’t always associate with her. Didn’t not detract from any enjoyment whatsoever.
I will be on the edge of my seat until the next release. Might be a great time to start rereading some of the more recent seasons to see if I can find any hidden hints.

Always Knows How To Throw Out A Cliffhanger That Makes Me Want More
Strong imperfect female characters mixed in with sci-fi twists and turns will ALWAYS get a chance with me. Sienna never disappoints.
I love that characters are not forgotten nor thrown away. It feels like they all get plenty of time to exist as characters I actually get to know and care about. I get a little less excited about the China theme. It should be a mention that adds a little dimension to the plot, but has taken up so much space that it is its own character. However, the last few chapters always pull me back from the weariness of dealing with the foreign elements because we never forget a past character!
Family is in danger and that has got to be addressed…Sienna style! I need to see more of the team in an active role because they only popped in for bit this go around.

Oooohhhhh! Kinda liken the road Robert J Crane has set Sienna Nealon down/up!?! So very many doors left unopened, schemes left to the readers imagination, & twists/turns left unexplained!! Just have to add … WTF is up with that ending!?!?!?! I seriously have to wait at least another month before this crazy author releases the new book in ‘The Girl In The Box’ series.
Started the whole set of books, 54 tales so far, in January of 2022, just finished ‘Shadows’ today, 7/5/‘23!! Not too shabby if I do say so myself! Thank you Mr Crane for creating a series that has kept me intrigued for the past year & a half!! More, More, More … Please

The only thing I don't like about this 'Girl in the Box' series is that I've read them all! Now what? No other series can compare to the genius, the wit, and the raw, honest elements that bring to light real-life struggles for all of us. I have read every single book from one to 54 and wish there were more. Every girl should be more like Sienna and less like Cinderella. Women are powerful and can get things done, no matter how underestimated, out-matched, and out-flanked. Women are resilient. I admire the premise, and I love the heroine. Keep them coming, please!

FINALLY!!!
OK now we’re getting to the good stuff! This book was fantastic and I will never get tired of reading about Sienna Nealon! I am a true diehard fan and this book was probably the best one because more truth is coming out. I’m really pulling for Sienna’s husband. Truly. I NEED THEM TO MAKE IT!!! I e been waiting for her to get her break at love. I know a lot of crazy stuff has to happen before she gets her chance. But please!!! Let it be. Can’t wait for the next book. Soooooo excited!!! I hope the old crazy sienna comes back!!! Yeah!!!!

Another great finish I didn't see coming. Sienna and her wayward cousin work together again while battling deceit, murders and other crimes we have seen along in Sienna’s long saga. We witness many family connections we may have forgotten. Robert once again is able to surprise and thrill his readers, bringing us more tales all connected with history, current and present. 5 Stars worthy of a movie I’d pay to see.

I even didnt mind the foul mouthed cousin in this one.
Fast paced (as always), family (as is becoming more common), drama in buckets (did you expect anything less) and a feeling that we are hurtling towards a conclusion to this particular arc.
This was tons of fun, and a deceptively quick read. Thoroughly recommended.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Love Sienna
Loved the new charcters, my fav is Ricardo Mocfalcon, I hope we see more of him. Love the direction you're taking of heroine in, can't wait to see the mayhem unfold in Fallout and how our gal handles it all with the help of her dark fam...... fingers crossed..... and what the hec is up with Lethe? And will will our heroine meet her hero? So many questions.......

Sienna is deep in it!
I really like this writer. This whole China plot is as close to what is actually happening here in the world as ever. We need a hero in our real lives. As for the book, so much is going on from different sides, and then, so many truths coming out as well, makes for a great story!

Keeps Me Up at Night
54 books in, and I still get bummed out when I finish reading one of these. I also stayed up all night reading this one because I. Just. Couldn’t. Put. It. Down.
If you don’t mind walking around like a zombie from lack of sleep - this is the book (and the series) for you. I’m hoping the next 54 novels are just as great.

Worth the wait
I really enjoyed this one though I'm starting to get a hint of foreshadowing whenever an old Head gets to reminiscence about Metas of yore. Still enjoyable and I am not easy to surprise so finding something unexpected is quite joyful. Nice read

Sienna is back on form as the series starts to ramp up again. Some of the key players are being set up and the turn of events in this book will majorly affect the story going forward. Can’t wait for the next one (which, thanks to Crane’s writing speed, won’t be too far off).

Excellent, as always
Loved seeing Sienna delve into the CIA and shake Director Crawford up so much. The fight scenes were tense and great. The turnaround was something else, you won't believe it!

I've been thoroughly enjoying my re-read of this series. I think this is the first time I've read this one. Wow! I loved the interplay conversations between Sienna & HBB. Very well done!
