I have to say I'm very disappointed in the presentation of this item. I knew when purchasing it that it was a reprint, but wow, I think the only impressive thing is the glossy cover. The paper quality is very poor and the printed pages look like they've been photocopied about 50 times over. The photos are horribly dark and don't even give a good idea of what the finished product might look like. The original publication is of higher quality with its much clearer images. I gave it 3 stars because the information and instructions are excellent, but I simply can't believe for the price I paid that the print quality of the book is so poor. I'm almost tempted to get the original 2 books and return this one.
A really fun and helpful book that was gifted to me many years ago by my soul Sister. And, I have a handmade basket full of scarves to prove it. We spent part of a weekend, early mornings, making baskets, while enjoying Seattle.
Well illustrated, step-by-step guide to many useful baskets! Not many options for round reed baskets, and many baskets use multiple types of reed. Beginners beware! You will need multiple kinds of reeds and a way to keep them from being tangled!
I am in the beginning stages of learning how to basket weave, and this book has enabled me to take my work to the next step, without making me feel intimidated or overwhelmed. I am really, really excited to try the designs in this book, and am eager to locate more patterns and books by the author. Even though this book is almost 20 years old, it is in no way outdated.
