Is there life after death? Will we be reunited with our deceased loved ones when we die?Can they communicate with us now?Hello From Heaven! is the first complete study of an exciting new field of research called After-Death Communication, or ADC. This is a spiritual experience that occurs when a person is contacted directly and spontaneously by a family member or friend who has died. During their seven years of research, the authors collected more than 3,300 firsthand accounts from people who believe they have been contacted by a deceased loved one.The 353 ADC accounts in Hello From Heaven! • Fascinating modern-day evidence of life after death• Comfort and emotional support for those who are bereaved• Hope for those who yearn to be reunited with a loved one who has died• Courage and strength for those who have a life-threatening illness• Inspiration for caregivers to the elderly and terminally ill• Insight and reassurance for those who are fearful of death• Inner peace for those whose hearts and minds are awaiting this good newsYou will treasure these uplifting messages from those who continue to exist in a life beyond physical death. Their profound communications of love offer comfort, hope, and spiritual inspiration to all readers.
I apologize in advance for the rambling nature of these comments. I originally set out to write only a short statement but this book, along with the closing lines from the Bible miniseries (at the end of my comments) had a profound impact upon me.
If you’ve ever doubted, reading this book in conjunction with Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives will certainly present a strong case for belief in an afterlife. The two books dovetail nicely in that Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives discusses life after death among those experiencing the afterlife through hypnotic regression while this one features the experiences among the living who have had loved ones come back making contact with them.
The book is filled with stories that highlight messages delivered from those who have passed. The takeaway is that they want the living to move on and not grieve for them. They are alright, happy, and watching over you. When those that are left behind continually grieve, they are not living and they impede the departed souls from fully experiencing their new lives.
I find it hard to discount all of these independent stories from across the country describing essentially the same experiences. There will be those who doubt. To those I say, "What does it hurt?" Read with an open mind and believe.
The stories are both heartbreaking and encouraging which made for an emotional roller coaster. So many of these experiencers had loved ones die tragic deaths (is any death not tragic?) such as young children getting hit by cars and older children getting murdered. You feel the loss of these people and end up shaking your head in sympathy and realizing your life could be worse. Then, BAM! The experience of seeing or hearing their loved again is shared. The messages delivered and the positive impact it makes on their lives is awe inspiring.
Essentially, our bodies can be thought of as vehicles. When we die, it is only the vehicle that houses the soul has ceased functioning. The operator remains safe. An example given in the book is that our bodies are like vehicles to get us around. Like cars, bodies need fuel, regular maintenance, and sometimes break down and eventually die. Only the body dies but the soul moves on. Just like drivers getting a new car.
Messages received indicate death is as simple as walking through a door. We will all be reunited with the ones we love someday and experience eternal happiness. It is what religion preaches and these books help document. For this reason, it has made me fear death less for myself and my loved ones.
So, the meaning of life you ask? After reviewing the data, (I'm a left brainer) the answer is, love. A lofty goal to be sure.
While a believer, I don’t describe myself as a Bible-thumper, but between the recent miniseries on the Bible and these books, I have a new outlook on my earthly life and a positive view on the afterlife with love being the overriding theme.
1 Corinthians 13
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
One of the better books out there on the afterlife and what happens to our essence/spirit/soul when our bodies can no longer carry us through this mortal life.
I found this work to be extremely comforting to read, after the very sudden and unexpected death of my 28 year old son 6 months ago, from pulmonary emboli.
This resonates strongly with so much of what I already believe and goes on to further examine it and amplify it. Now I KNOW my son will always be with me when I need him and we will have a joyous reunion when I leave this mortal body and transition into the next life that awaits us all!
This book is a collection of anecdotes compiled from hundreds of people who have had after-death spiritual encounters with loved ones who have crossed over to the spiritual realm of existence. They combined and categorized the experiences according to the type of transcendence – whether it be through a vivid dream, out-of-body, visuals, telephone, auditory, tactile – all of which when put together seem pretty convincing of a spiritual life on the other side of human existence.
Should be interesting...hope it sheds light and helps me be at peace. This was an easy read and thankfully not a tear-jerker. One part torn me apart the most though..."When you lose a parent you lose your past. When you lose a spouse you lose your present. When you lose a child you lose your future".
If anything, this was encouraging and provided hope that we can get a visit!
Hello from Heaven! co-authored by Bill Guggenheim and Judy Guggenheim is an excellent read which is why 20 years on from first publication it's still selling well and is available in English and 18 other languages. It's very well researched and full of authentic, spontaneous, heartfelt after-death communication stories that sparkle with love and hope!
Bill and Judy are the researchers who first coined the term after-death communication (ADC) which is now widely accepted by experts worldwide and refers to any type of communication that is received by a living person from the spirit of a deceased person – like Granny, Gramps, mother, father, spouse, sibling, child, friend and even the family dog. Yes, even our beloved pets can send us messages from heaven!
There are 353 ADCs featured in Hello from Heaven! selected from 3,300 first-hand accounts that the authors gathered over seven years from the US and Canada. They then organised these featured accounts into different ADC types and also included a short summary or conclusion after each which is especially helpful if you're someone who is approaching the subject of ADCs for the very first time.
I have read this book several times, espeically when I have been feeling insecure or overwhelemed with life. For me this reminded me that our life here is just a short time and that we will be forever bonded to the ones we love!
When I experienced my first After-Death Communication (ADC) from my mother in 2008, I was guided to learn more about this phenomenon. This is a fabulous book based on thousands of case studies done by ground-breaking researchers, Bill and Judy Guggenheim. You will learn how our deceased loved ones communicate with us through various signs from the afterlife.
This is another book that changed my life. I wasn't sure if I believed in an afterlife, but this book helped me along my life path which would lead me to an amazing spiritual awakening to what is real ... that each of us is a spiritual being having a human experience. We never really die. We just shed our physical layers and return to the core of our being ... God's love and light. Our souls are eternal, and love never dies. It's what keep us all connected to one consciousness that exists in a higher dimension that that of our three-dimensional world.
This is truly one of my favorite books of all time, and I have given it as a gift to friends who were mourning with the hope that it would bring them the comfort that it had brought me. I highly recommend it as an introduction book to the afterlife and to learn how to recognize signs from your loved ones.
I read it after my fiance crossed over and it blessed me. I'd never lost someone so close. I was in the grips of grief and despair. The book gave me hope of seeing him again and confidence he was okay.
Very, very interesting! I learned so much about the after death communications! Long book, but worth the time to read if this is a subject of interest to you!
If Heaven is a question read this book. Stories from people that have been given signs from their departed loved-ones. A book that leaves you feeling like asking for signs of your own.
Great book for anyone who might be afraid of death, or maybe lost someone and are afraid for them. Confirmed much of what I already believe, and more. LOVED IT!!
When I was half-way through this book I ordered five copies for family and friends, and will probably order more. It would be hard to remain a sceptic after reading most of the first hand accounts of After Death Communication presented here.
Finished this a few weeks ago...accounts taken from all over the country from people who feel they have been in touch with loved ones lost - either through dreams, signs, or actual appearances. I already knew I believed in ghosts, but when you see some of the recurring signs and themes that link these stories, it would make even a non-believer question. The writers have an interesting idea about heaven after studying their varying accounts - a place where everyone will go but with different levels. Hell is not full of fire but a place of just absolute loneliness and darkness. There are other levels that maybe the less than stellar people of the world have to go through to redeem past mistakes before they can enter the highest level of glory. The book even covers suicide and how people that choose that path just have to work through some things afteward a little while before they can move to the next step. The book even suggests that the deceased come back to watch their own funerals and special occasions they celebrated. Food for thought. It will keep you up all night reading, especially if the loss of a loved one is still fresh.
I have found interest and inspiration in a lot of Life after death books. I exclude only those that deal with reincarnation, seances, and mysticism. This one was very interesting and takes a different but hardly unknown point of view. Being warned or comforted by the spirits of the departed has been going on for Melania, and has been written about personally by several ancient Greeks and Romans. Accounts are all through Christian literature, diaries, etc.
From the Amazon blurb: "After-death communications,"or "ADCs," occur when someone is contacted spontaneously and directly by a deceased family member or friend, without the help of any medium. The authors' research shows that these spiritual experiences offer hope, love, and comfort for thousands of people. Included are more than 350 first-hand accounts of those whose lives have been changed and even protected by messages or signs from the deceased.
I could write a book just like this as there is nothing extraordinary about these kind of communications. You lose someone and get signs that you believe are coming from your loved one. These signs are very comforting and exciting to share with your family & friends but reading story after story about people I don't know got boring for me.
This book was so comforting in so many ways. It opened my mind to realize that those we lose are closer than we think. I needed to read it and have found so much peace in reading it. I’ve felt Jenna close many times and have had really sweet moments with her❤️. I’ve also had some special moments with my grandma. This book made me open to those experiences and I am so grateful for that!❤️😇
A collection of stories from people who have experienced contact with loved ones who have died. The best book of its kind...perhaps the only one. Well-written and interesting.
An interesting book based on interviews with people who experienced a visit from someone who had died. There were several chapters based on different types of experiences. The chapters did not need to be read in any particular order. However, I recommend the first two chapters should be read first as they give the basis for the book's content. Also, the last chapter is helpful in understanding the premise of the book.
I was interested in reading this book because, at one time, I was 12,000 miles from home, and my grandmother came one night and told me she had died. A day and a half later, I received a telegram informing me of her death.
I can't say enough good about this book. I have been talking about it to my family and friends since I started reading it. If you're curious what this life is about and what is beyond this life, or are afraid of "death" read this book! Actually, EVERYONE should read this book, and would benefit from reading it. I give it 100 stars!!!
As a bereaved mother, I find comfort in the notion that we live on after death, and these stories reinforce that. However, the accounts of After Death Communications became repititious, and I disliked the strong religous overtone. Also, the chapter on suicide was awful. It pretty much said that people who commit suicide do not enjoy the afterlife, and that suicide is the coward's way out. This is again the influence of religion, specifically Catholicism, and provides no comfort for the families of loved ones who have taken their lives due to mental illness.
This book brought me great comfort, although I am a bit skeptical about some of its theories. The evidence cataloged in these pages was certainly compelling.
To my shame, I first became aware of ADC's and the existence of this book way back in 1999, when the ADC website became the first place I ever visited online. I regret that it's taken me so long to get around to finally reading 'Hello From Heaven', however I believe that it was definitely worth the wait. This collection of over 350 personal stories are arranged in chapters detailing the very different types of ADC, or 'After Death Communication' , where friends, family members and loved ones have seemingly found ways to give reassurance and support to the bereaved (ranging from dreams and sensations to actual physical sightings and even telephone calls). For me, one interesting (and wonderful) aspect is the apparent lack of religious or social divisions that so often divide and separate us; whereas within these pages, personal accounts are drawn from a diverse social strata, for me reaffirming the belief that Love transcends all. Some of the accounts are harrowing and not easy to read, but the one thing that shines through each story is the overwhelming positive effects left upon the bereaved individuals and also members of their families. To be read with an open and even analytical mind, although the Guggenheims have arranged the chapters in such a way that the more evidential accounts start kicking in about half way through. As such it does seem to start like a rolling snowball, but quickly starts to pick up pace. Please stay with it; I think it's definitely worth the effort. :)
It is an excellent book which helped me come out of the grief of missing my father in the physical world. If this book wasn't there, I don't think I'd have been able to be normal so fast. In just around 1 week, I finished 90% of the book during my travel time. After that I just got too busy to finish it. But whenever I needed some strength and assurance, this book is what stood for me and gave me the support which no body could ever have given.
It is a must read for everyone! No exception. Because all of us who'd like to Live, need to understand Death. For Light is just the absence of Darkness and Darkness is the absence of Light. So is Life and Death.
This book is especially important for those who are grieving for their loved ones and would like to know about how they are feeling in the other planes.
I feel very happy and confident that my dad is in the safest and most happiest place now. And I now know for sure that I can contact him and communicate with him through Meditation practice.
With Lots of Love and Gratitude for all your efforts to enlighten us in this subject, Authors Bill & Judy, Hats Off!
It took 7 years to complete this book. Thank you for being patient and completing it. This book is full of heart warming true stories of loved ones having after death contact. I myself have had three. The first with my mother in law telling me something bad was to happen but I will see through it (I was robbed shortly afterwards that day). The second was on the day my ex husband’s grandmother was buried. Her antique mirror flew off the wall and was laying face down with not a mark on it. It didn’t touch the table beneath it or the lamp on the table. The picture hanger and wire were still in perfect condition. My last contact was with my son who had departed 1 year ago. He apologized to me and told me how much he loved me. It provided such peace allowing me to go on.
This book is spot on with true stories to uplift us all knowing there is more than our humanly world when we pass.
Groundbreaking research into after-death communication, with true accounts of signs and messages commonly experienced by those who have lost a loved one. According to Bill and Judy Guggenheim, 60% of people who have lost a loved one experience one or more signs or messages in the weeks, months and even years after their passing, usually to say, "I am okay" or "don't worry about me." We are among some of the fortunate ones. After my brother died in 2000, I, along with many members of my family, had various experiences falling under all 12 categories of communication mentioned in their book. And now, more recently, we have been receiving communication from my Dad who passed away just last month, and it has been incredibly healing for us.
I have mixed feelings about this book. It lists many examples of people who have had After Death Communication, either by "sensing or feeling the presence of a deceased family member or friend", auditory ADCs (After Death Communication), Visual ADC's, Telephone ADC's, Out of Body ADC's, etc. The examples were very numerous and tended to get a little redundant.
I always think of my mother when I see a butterfly so I'm not saying that I don't believe that ADC's exist. This book opened my eyes as to all the types of ADC's that exist and how many people have experienced them and had them change their lives for the better. I appreciate all of the research that the authors did to make a comprehensive study of ADC's. It certainly gives you something to think about.
Lies and fabrications often of the cruelest kind spread out long and repetitive like some sly roundabout gospel which it in the end inevitably and very predictably turns into. I'm pretty sure most of these people didn't even exist let alone their very convenient visions and visitations that sound like they're all concocted by the same exact person. Cute but no.
Everyone is entitled to believe what they will... but I loved reading this book. It has brought me comfort and I have recommended it to friends who have suffered losses and it has comforted them as well. I simply read it with an open heart and trust that love doesn't end with death.
I liked it no dislikes easy flowing read.i would surly recommend this book to believers and non believers to open their eyes to heaven. God is good all the time
