An incredible story about the hard times of the depression and a somewhat hardened old man who softens at the sight of a boy who has no hat, no gloves, no socks. If ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. The very last page was a little disappointing to me, only because I think they might have expressed it better. Great book!

This is a lovely tale about a generous poor man endowed with the Christmas spirit. The story is comforting and the magnificent,. child-friendly, in-your-face artwork bleeds off the pages of this over-sized picture book.

A sweet story about giving, for any time of the year, but I wish the author had ended it differently.

We picked this book up at the library. It was an unexpected delight. This is a great Christmas story to share as a family.
