This is my first western. Took me a long time to finish this. So now I know I'm not that into westerns. But I must say that the descriptions and the dialogue were extremely colorful and skillfully used the old west dialect. I would say that J. Lee Butts is the Jim Thompson of the western genre, only with that western moral compass.

Recommended for Western buffs.

Outstanding series. Will miss Ranger Dodge.

I was unable to put this book down, as was the case with those before it. I wish the author would continue the series even if it an old man remembering his past. Excellent read!
