This book was a first for me by this author
When I started reading, at first I didn’t understand, but as I continued reading it began to make a whole lot of sense.
Astara and Danylo were friends, then lovers, til a lie tore them apart.Time changed them both in different ways. Now years later, as a mother, Astara will do everything in her power to protect her daughter, putting aside her own pride she agrees to an arranged marriage.
Only the man she is set to marry, is the man who hurt her beyond words, not giving her the chance to make things right. When Danylo learns who he is set to marry, he is in utter disbelief, but moreso the shock of when he learns he has an almost adult daughter.
There feelings towards each other are volatile, she won’t tolerate being spoken down to, earning the respect of her peers, he however is shocked at her blatant disregard to his authority, demanding respect, she knows he will get none from her.
But there is no denying the connection they have a connection that they both try so hard to deny, but when it explodes, it ignites a blazing inferno between them, giving into there own desires, putting aside their fears, they claim each other in moments of unadulterated pleasure and passion, asserting there control and dominance, each bending to the other’s will, acquiescing to there carnal desires.
Danylo has no idea who his wife is and what she is capable of, but when he sees it with his own eyes, he knows without a doubt that he will not be letting her go, ever. But the most heartbreaking moment it when she reveals to him her pain, of the loss she endured, breaking Danylo’s heart that little bit more, now understanding who and why she is the way she is.
But it doesn’t end there, when Dita is taken, do they spring into action. It is in this moment that Danylo learns of his uncle’s betrayal and the future that it cost him with Astara all those years ago.
However all is not fraught, in a bittersweet moment Astara reveals that she is pregnant and Danylo could not be more excited about his future with her, which leads to a beautiful wedding, a dirty hot wedding night, and a beautiful happily ever after.
This story is told from dual POV, we get to see these characters through there strengths and weaknesses, what we see and feel shapes these characters, giving readers insight to who they are flaws and all, that they are in fact humans who all feel but handle what happened to them differently.
Their story will take you on a wild ride, having you turn page after page, this book had me from the beginning to the end. Reading this story, it enables the readers to really connect with the characters. The author knows how to write, and I will be coming back for more.
This book has it all dark mafia romance, possessive dominant alpha male and female, both who give as good as they gets, touch him/ her and die vibes, family and friend dynamics, madness, mayhem, revenge, vengeance, violence, defiance, manipulation, adrenaline seeking suspense, jealousy, twists and truths.
There possessiveness and obsessive need for control and dominance, there foreplay it was off the charts. There need for each other was possessive, wicked and depraved, They own each other in heart, mind and body. Those s*x scenes were blazing hot, downright dirty and physical, it had all the pleasure and passion one would expect for they will be all that each other will need for they will always both get what they want, each giving the other pain and pleasure, they deserve.
Cannot believe that this is the end of there story, but all good stories must come to and end, it was bittersweet and oh so perfect, and one very well deserved for them all.

Lately I’ve been more attracted to men in tattoos and this book cover just reeled me in. Arranged marriage trope in mafia books slap and I also wanted to know if this was as good.
The representation in this book was its biggest positive aspect: both FMC and MMC were in their late 30s and it is not the same. With that age comes experience and a certain level of maturity that is expected.
I liked Danylo and his intensity in comparison with Astara whom I felt I couldn’t connect with. There’s a difference between being badass and being a snake and I felt Astara was the latter. Danylo made me continue reading this book.
The short chapters was good because I felt that it was going fast enough for a mafia book, I couldn’t have made it if it was a slow burn. Also for freaky lovers like myself, there is knife and blood play as well as somnophilia.
Overall a quick read!

I hate giving negative reviews, just because I didn’t enjoy it definitely doesn’t mean someone else won’t. But this book I couldn’t get into for several reasons- but I did finish it. There were some things I really liked & several I really didn’t.
First, I want to say I loved Danylo. He never forgot or got over the girl fell in love w/18 years prior & the one who broke his heart & turned it to stone. I also like the concept of this book, second chance- arranged marriage & secret baby/child, & the betrayal of a family member, it also had lots of action & the spice & smutty scenes were off the damn charts!
Now why I couldn’t particularly get into it…
Both Danylo & Astara are almost 40, so the idea of a all of a sudden arranged marriage didn’t make sense to me. Especially since they’re both the head of their family, so they ultimately have the say. Next, they met & dated at 18, yet neither knew who the other was, & Danylo never once thought to look into her after he thought she betrayed him. And once Astara was pregnant, her father the head at that time, knew who the father was & why he broke up w/Astara, but he never contacted Danylo’s father to inform him??? Lastly, I honestly didn’t like or connect w/Astara. She lied about several things f/start right to the end of the book. Danylo would find one thing out, & instead of telling him everything, she continued to hide things- things he had every right to know. She was definitely a strong, tough a** female- but she was kinda too tough for me, she was actually tougher than Danylo.
Even though I didn’t enjoy this book, I still definitely recommend others reading it for themselves. Like I said, there were some really good things I liked, but I honestly think the female character is what ruined it for me.

I really enjoyed this book, I just wished it was a little longer. Although it was only under 200 pages, It sometimes felt as if it were rushing through the story, just to get it all out. I wished that the story was a bit slower and we got to see more of each scene instead of just hopping around. I did however absolutely adore the fact that the author made both Astra and Danylo in their late thirties, I am so used to seeing the fmc being in her early twenties and the mmc in his late thirties. It was a bit of a breath of fresh air. The spice scenes in this were immaculate, they were downright dirty and full of spice and BDSM. I am honestly in love with Astras’ bloodthirstyness, and it had me laughing my ass off with the whole ‘bowtie of guts’! I can’t wait to see where the story goes in book 2!

I got this as a BETA and ARC read and I loved the plot of this.
We have the MC’s who are both 38 years old, the FMC is a single mom whose daughter has caught the eye of the Italian mafia and they want to align forces but Miss Astara says heck NOOOO.
So in order to keep her daughter safe she has her people draw up a contract with, can you guess, her ex!? Did I mention they also hate each other 😉
I loved the relationship between Astara and her right hand woman/best friend Dina. They’ve both suffered trauma in their lives and have formed a solid bond being that they’ve had to rely on each other for emotional/physical/mental support and seeing their intimacy in the bedroom and outside of it, idk it was nice to know they had each other backs.
This is a quick read, around 194 pages I think and the story is fast paced so if your looking for a quick mafia read I’d rec this.

I absolutely loved the book. The dynamics were so good. It had angst, romance, heartbreak, everything. The spice was so good. I did think it had the potential of being more. I wish it was longer and had more elements but overall I enjoyed myself a lot. I devoured it in one night (4 hours). It was so easy to read and get into. I absolutely look forward to reading more from the author.
Highly recommended to people who like mafia, marriage of convenience trope. Please read the trigger warnings before diving in.

Astra also is the head of her side of the families Greek Mafia and he is the head of the Ukranina Odessa Mafia. This is a mafia book and if you are fans of that then you will probably love this book. It is steamy for sure.

I will start of with this is my very first read by this author and I did sign up for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. This is the very first book of this series which features both Astara & Danylo. It isn't a very long read and it does leave you wanting more of it because of how fast pace it is. We get to see both dynamics of each character as well as their relationship together bloom despite it being an arranged marriage. Astara "Wicked" Papasppiratos, a feared assassin and single mother of the Greek mafia whose a tough a** woman, while Danylo is the head of the Odesa family of the Ukrainian mafia. He never forgot or got over the girl fell in love w/18 years prior & the one who broke his heart & turned it to stone (Which is Astara which he finds out later on). Astara in an effort to prevent her daughter from marrying the Italian mafia's head guy she calls in a favor and agrees in marrying Danylo. Both are bloodthirsty and gruesome which makes them each others match.
Only complaint I have of this book is that it was short.

Astara is a feared assassin and single mother of the Greek mafia. Danylo is the head of the Odesa family of the Ukrainian mafia. Astara, in an effort to spare her daughter from marrying the head of the Italians, calls on a favor and agrees with marry Danylo, much to his chagrin. Color him surprised when he learns that Astara is actually Star, his first love and heartbreaker from 18 years ago... and she has a surprise for him...

Astara and Danylo are a blood-thirsty and gruesome duo. There is a fantastically gory torture scene in the first 2 chapters, and they get so turned on by the other when covered in blood. My kind of people! I just knew from then on that this story was going to be great fun, and it did not disappoint. The story and plot are done well with no holes, the writing and dialogue flow so beautifully. The author did not skimp on the gore or the spice, and I very much appreciated that. I really enjoyed reading this and am eager to see what couples come next.

Astara and Danylo are a blood-thirsty and gruesome duo. There is a fantastically gory torture scene in the first 2 chapters, and they get so turned on by the other when covered in blood. My kind of people! I just knew from then on that this story was going to be great fun, and it did not disappoint. The story and plot are done well with no holes, the writing and dialogue flow so beautifully. The author did not skimp on the gore or the spice, and I very much appreciated that. I really enjoyed reading this and am eager to see what couples come next.

This book was okay i liked it. It was fast paced, has short chapters and the story was enjoyable. I had fun reading it.
I liked the main characters but i wished there was more of a slow burn between them because the storyline is interesting. I wished we had scenes where they just sit down and talk instead of a spicy scene or them shouting at each other whenever they are next to each other or alone. It did happen but it was closer to the end of the book.
The side characters were ok they’re not bad but they didn’t stick out to me that much. Nonetheless I enjoyed seeing them introduce with main character.
Overall this book was ok and i urge you to read this book and give it a chance, don’t let my review stop you.

Give me a good mafia book, and I'm sold. That's exactly what Bekah gave me.
This book follows Astara, who is the only child of the Godfather of Night which is part of the Greek Mafia, and her family is being put into a touch situation. the Italian Mafia, which it seems to be the most hated Marfia, wants to have one of their own marry Astara's daughter when she turns 18. Astara not having this, decides to come up with something else on her own.....
To marry herself off to the leader of the Odessa Mafia....Danylo. He's not just the leader, but also Astara's past lover, he just doesn't know this yet. After agreeing to marry said "mystery woman", Danylo is greeted with a surprise, when the person who broke his heart years ago, is now in his house, and the one he is to call his wife.
There were so many twists and turns. Things I didn't see coming and it left me saying WTF!!!!
I love how Astara is a strong FMC. I feel like she was the whole main character in this book by how she was represented and how much power she had. Danylo is just a hot sex mafia man who also strives for that power and at times succeeds at it with Astara (Usually in the bedroom lol).
Great book and I highly recommend.

Held me like a baby does it’s binky!
Ok ok ok…. Did I know this story would hold my attention so hard I would have my phone die on me while reading and stay up til 7am to read it? No, No I didn’t.
Do I regret said decisions? No, No I do not!
This is one of the top mafia stories I have read. The MCs were stubborn a$$es that held so much hurt, pain and lies that it almost seemed like almost cause..

I liked the premise of the story being a mafia, arranged marriage, blended with a second chance vibe. I really liked Danylo and his alpha dominance ways. I wasn’t a fan of Astara, I had a hard time connecting to her as a character, mainly because of her attitude. She would say that they needed to talk and is trying to make the arrangement work but when it came down to it, kept hiding and lying things from Danylo, which also made another side character act the same way towards him. I liked that both characters were older and more mature but it did make it harder to believe the arranged marriage thing because they were older and also were the heads of their respective families and could have probably come up with an alternative to the original arrangement and still been protected.

First.. this was recommended to me so I went in blind.
I am not a fan of FF.. so immediately that pulled me out of the story. The beginning feels quick.. setting the current scene but with no background it was hard to find my groove.
The Greek glossary in the beginning is a nice idea but you're writing while sentences in another language. So now my choice is to flip from the page back to glossary and back to translate, or skip that part and hope it's not important.
All in all I am frustrated and thus not enjoying this story.. so I'm DNFing

FMC was strong, ruthless, and a bada$$ with history, secrets, and a past. The MMC was brooding, possessive, and demanding. All the parts for a good story! Some parts were more graphic than I tend to reach for but I did enjoy the storyline. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the dark, possessive mafia books. I would not recommend it to someone starting out in the sub-genre.

Sometimes, everything is not as it seems. The question is, can Astara and Danylo see light before total darkness overcomes them?
If you are not into BDSM, this book won't be for you.
I read this book in one sitting. I would have been hard-pressed to put it down!

Ok so I struggled to get into this book, it wasn't that it was bad or anything. It just didn't pull me in, I finished it though and happy I did. I loved Danylo so much, he was the saviour for me in this book and made me continue reading. I loved the idea of this book. Even though I didn't love this book, I will still recommend it to others.

First read by this author and I am hooked!! Astara ia a badass woman and she never changes and Danylo never asks her or makes her change. You always read about a badass FMC but once she gets involved with the MMC they change her or her character somehow becomes less badass. That never happens here!! And their story was heartbreaking. I cant wait for the brothers' stories. But these 2, Astara and Danylo HOLY FUCK, they are dirty, delicious, depraved, demanding and devoted!!!!!

The story was sweet and simple with darkness to it just as Mafia romances are. The plot was pretty predictable and everything was laid out from the start of the book. It’s a short story about a second chance for Astara and Danylo. I situation or say threat brought them back together and their story skyrockets from there. It’s an enjoyable one.

Astara and Danylo have a past and even though the story did not WOW me it was not bad. They were a duo that fed off each other's darkness not that I don't like dark because I do. It was good just not a wow for ME.
