Award-winning author, Harry Noden, introduces his much-praised teaching approach for integrating grammar and writing. Abundant examples illustrate the concept of image grammar---using grammatical constructs to create powerful written images.
I read this as part of the new textbook adoption (one of the "programs" being peddled). I LOVED the pics and some of the activities were actually pretty cool. I usually dont use textbooks (except as busy work on the rare occassion that I'm out for the day)or workbooks (except for sudents that need excessive repetion before a concept sinks in), but this workbook had some nice jumping off points for independent writing. The pics and topics would also work well with students that get the occassional case of writer's block. I would like to get my hands on the high school edition to see what it has, might have smoething I could use as enrichment for my higher level kids - though those are few and far between :)
