Useful little guidebook for a short trip to Amsterdam. Fits in your pocket or bag and covers all the main things to see. It divides the city into areas and lists the top 10 things to see and do and places to eat in each area as well as the overall top 10 so there's no risk of missing something. Has really clear maps, at each end of the book plus a separate pull out map with large scale plan of the central area on one side and a smaller scale map of a larger area on the other. This map is printed on plasticy paper and stood up really well to being folded and refolded and stuffed in a pocket. But you'll still need tripadvisor for finding restaurants near where you are! But I recommend this book.

Очевидно, це просто дуже стислий перелік основних атракцій, без анекдоток, які могли б enrich your experience, але будемо сподіватися, що цього досить, коли немає часу закопуватися в якийсь ґрунтовніший різьорч.

Good city guide: clear information, and containing most of the info you would need for a break in Amsterdam.

Very helpful in finding the highlights to see and do in a short stay in Amsterdam. Also helpful to learn foods to try and acceptable etiquette.

Another awesome book in the DK Eyewitness travel series. I love the colorful, accurate maps, the color-coded sections with brief, but helpful tidbits to help plan a visit, and the small compact size of the book overall. I also love the fold out maps in the front and back (which also serve as bookmarks) and the fact that all the pages are just a little bit "waxy" to help keep them from tearing so easily or getting dirty/wet. I wouldn't buy any other brand of travel guide book (I've tried, and was always disappointed). This will definitely be helpful on my upcoming trip to Amsterdam!

This was a great book for preparing my trip to Amsterdam with my lovely girlfriend Jenn. Who I might add gave me the trip as a 30th b-day gift cause she is awesome!

It was a top 10 list of just about everything. Food, drinks, coffee shops, museums, canals, churches etc. Not as good as the irreverant guide which was more politically incorrect and therefore a better guide to Amsterdam.. but a nice little guide book nonetheless.

The guide is divided by area with restaurant reviews for each, as well as recommendations for hotels, bars, and places to shop. Rely on dozens of Top 10 lists — from the Top 10 purveyors of fine chocolate to the Top 10 Art Nouveau landmarks to the Top 10 restaurants, outdoor activities, shops, and hotels in the region. There's even a list of the Top 10 things to avoid. There is also a separate pull out map to guide you through the city. Great travel book.

Would definitely recommend DK eyewitness to anyone wanting to travel. The "top ten" series especially make things concise and easy to orient. Maps great, all of them, esp. transport. Best thing it recommended was a wee pub from the Middle Ages named 'the monkeys' after sailors used to pay their tabs with exotic merchandise, sometimes a monkey.

A great series of guides if looking for a place to begin your exploration of the great cities of the world. If your time is limited, these guides help you to select the important places/events you may not want to miss. Certainly helped in our online searches for information.

This is a quick read that allows one to start planning where to go and what to do in Amsterdam. The book is organized well, provides a great introduction to the layout of the city, and has a helpful list of Dutch phrases with pronunciation help.

Eyewitness top 10 travel guides on parhaita oppaita, mistä nopeasti saa käsityksen tärkeimmistä kohteista, mitä kannattaa syödä, ostaa yms. Amsterdamin kohdalla korostettiin vähän liikaa eri museoita. Ennemminkin olisi voinut nostaa tärkeimpien joukkoon esim. Keukenhofin ja vaikka Bluemenmarktin.

The Top 10 series is my favorite kind of guidebook. It's concise, to the point, and the various recommendations are easily accessed.

This was a handy guide to carry while I toured Amsterdam. It had lots of useful information yet wasn't too bulky to keep with me.

Decent travel guide. I am not the biggest fan of travel guides as I feel you can get a lot more information and up to date advice online. I only read travel books if I borrow them from the library.

Nice try. A top 10 list of many things. What makes the list? What classifies a place as a 5th or a 7th? Magic. At least tripadvisor is free with an adblocker.
