The pharmaceutical industry is extremely complex, and so are the inner workings of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies operating within it. Even the most seasoned industry professionals may find it difficult to understand the activities of, and interdependencies among, all key functions within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company. Yet this knowledge is crucial when the responsibilities for--or repercussions of--key initiatives ripple across an organization.
Understanding Pharma is a must-read for anyone in the pharma/biotech sector--those new to the industry, industry veterans, and specialized experts working in or serving the industry.
Great reference book that gives a structured overview of understanding the pharma/ biotech industry for an intermediate level know-how. I would love to have this book updated with more meat on market environment/ trends within the various functions for its forthcoming versions - that will make it a hot buy!
Excellent overview of the industry. It says it is for experienced people, but it starts at point A and is a far better and more thorough overview than any of the (rather aweful) intro textbooks that are on the market. The price is something of a horror though.
