Deadly secrets. Sinful power. Forbidden love. Everyone in the city fears the return of dark magic, except the psychic Ivy. That is, until dark magic kills one of her clients, and threatens to send her family’s century-old private security company to its financial ruin. Killian, the most powerful shapeshifter in the region, throws her company a lifebuoy, but in exchange, Ivy must do something she’d swore she’d never take on a supernatural client. Namely, Killian himself. He needs her to protect him against a curse. At least, that’s what he tells her, though the truth is a bit more complicated than he’s let on. But Killian isn’t the only one with a secret, and when he learns hers, it may be worse than her undoing. It may mean her death. If you like the bite of True Blood, the whimsical world of A Discovery of Witches, and the love of Outlander, then you’ll devour D.N. Leo’s Curse of the Alpha series. Wolf Hunted is the second book in D.N. Leo's Curse of the Alpha. The story picks right up after the events in the first book and just like the first, Wolf Hunted is full of action, magic, and danger.

Ivy's power is steadily growing and she getting really good at using them which is a good thing considering she's constantly in a situation where she has to. As for Killian he just amazes me with his confidence, even when things are falling apart around him he has a positive attitude about the outcome. The two are one heck of a pair. The sparks are flying in this one as they admit to their attraction to each other.

Killian and Ivy jump out of the frying pan and into the fire and the debts are piling up. They go from one problem to another, it's mostly Killian getting into trouble and Ivy helping him out. There's a bounty on Killian, demons are enacting deals, and there are other realms and a magical inn. Plus the other side of the LaBlanc family has made an appearance. I will say Ciaran LaBlanc, Killian's cousin, has the same magnetic quality that Killian does.

Wolf Hunted may be a quicker read but it was mighty. I love the action and excitement between the rogue witch, the appearance of a jinn, and the newest edition to Ivy's family the story was interesting. The mystery surrounding Killian's Curse continues to get bigger and bigger with unexpected allies and new enemies. The story did end on a sad note so I really need the next book so it can be fixed. Up next, Wolf Trapped.

The Chase is On !! . . .

I love the fact that the action starts immediately and grabs the reader’s full attention for the wild ride ahead. Killian is snatched up by a succubus and Ivy is determined to get him back. Will they find out what they mean to each other along the way? Or are they already well aware?

This story is well-written and action-packed. The characters are terrific. The author handles the twists and turns to perfection to keep up the suspense. Where will it lead us next?

As I noted in my review of Book 1, I wasn't sure whether I would continue the series. Obviously I did, and I've spent the last two weeks internally debating how to approach my rating and review. I decided to base my rating on the general story, but would have given a lower rating if I based it on the overall quality of the writing. Let me explain...

Like the first book, I enjoyed the story. The magical world is unique and interesting, I like and actually care about the main characters, and I'm intrigued by the unfolding mysteries of Ivy's heritage, the origins of the curse affecting Killian, the LeBlanc family split, and the identity of Ivy's mentoring goddess. The building romance is sweet and I find myself rooting for Ivy and Killian to find a way to be together.

This was an even quicker read than Book 1 and there were several aspects of it that made it feel rushed and even sloppy at times. There were grammatically incorrect and incoherent sentences throughout the book. Details were inconsistent (Ciaran's eyes were first noted to be one color, then a very different color at a later point), or were missing entirely. For example, a lot of attention was given to Ivy's pants and their innovative features, but nothing else about the outfit provided to her was described or even mentioned. While this should feel like a minor thing, I found myself struggling to picture the shirt that I assume she was wearing and became even more irked when I got a full, albeit basic, description of Killian's ensemble on the next page. A magical feat involving a dog was performed, but the reversal of it wasn't mentioned to have occurred, leading to quite a bit of confusion for the reader later on (forgive the vagueness as I am trying to avoid any spoilers). Topping off my irritation was the repeated mistake of using "vile" instead of "vial." The final blow was reflecting on the fact that I paid for this book, while I received a much more thoughtful and carefully edited Book 1 for free as the result of a giveaway (to be clear, I am quite willing to suspend judgment on an unedited manuscript, especially when labeled as such). Taken together, these issues really detracted from the quality and enjoyability of the book.

Book 2 picked up exactly where Book 1 left off and again finished with a significant cliffhanger. I'm likely to read Book 3 because, let's face it, I'm invested at this point. There's so much potential for the series to be amazing, given the characters, world, and plotlines. I'm hoping those start to truly shine in the next book, or in any case, that Book 3 might make it easier for me to decide whether to continue giving the series a chance to hook me for the long haul.

So, I wasn't sure what to make of the first book, the author lost me a few times, then just as I was ready to dnf, something grabbed me and kept me reading. The plot was a good one and I was interested enough to read book 2. Which I have. The pace and events were definitely more cohesive than the previous book, easier to grasp, at least, up to a point. It's really a complex plot, too complex perhaps? There was a lot going on that really convoluted and I had to stop a few times to try make sense of it. But it does crystallise, slowly, uncovering the secrets, which in as fast paced book as this, is almost agonisingly slow. Lots of questions still need answers but one thing is absolutely clear, we're closer to getting all the answers.

I loved the idea of a badassed tarot reading MC. Ivy is just that, although her tarot cards are blank, only she can see the images, which she has to decipher as to what they mean. Tasked with protecting Killian, she fails many a time, putting herself as well as Killian in even more danger. Well, when you have the entire demon population after him, it's nigh impossible to keep your charge safe! Only there's way more than meets the eye with both Ivy and Killian, she's not just a bodyguard for hire, he's not just a cursed Alpha trying to survive. What they are is yet to unfold and I'm intrigued to find out exactly what that might be.

There's tons of mystery but as I said earlier, perhaps a bit too much to grasp at times, like, what's special about Killian's blood, like who IS Ivy, what magic is hidden in her, who is the goddess and what on earth is her deal? Then there's Ciaran, the other half of the LeBlanc family, what is the mysterious family business. So, notwithstanding my need for answers, there is lots I did enjoy. That being the overall plot, the romance brewing between Ivy and Killian, the cutest little dog called Snuggleworth and Ammen, a real live Jin. The world building is immense, I really mean that, it boggles the mind. With all said and done, I definitely want to read book 3, to see it all come together and to have all my burning questions put to bed.

Wolf Hunted is the second book in the Curse of the Alpha series and like the first book Wolf Cursed starts off with a blast and never lets up. From that first page, Wolf Hunted kept me in suspense and hooked on its world of shifters.

Killian is missing and Ivy is hot on his tail. She will find him if it is the last thing she ever does. The hunting is no disappointment. It certainly kept me on my toes and hanging on every word. I couldn’t turn those pages fast enough as I raced through it all to the end rooting for Ivy and Killian the whole way.

Killian has been taken by a succubus who is determined to win him over, heart and soul. This succubus wants more than just the physical part of Killian she wants him to succumb to her with his whole body and soul. She is very patient and will wait as long as she has to to get want she wants.

Wolf Hunted has many twists and turns that kept me wanting to know more and more. I had to know it all and the quicker the better. Curse of the Alpha is one of the best world-building stories I have seen in a long time.

I can’t wait to read more from this world. I like this series so much that I highly recommend it to all fans of magic, shifters, demons, and succubus! Grab your copy of Wolf Hunted today!

I am a massive fan of D.N. Leo. This author knows how to make a series work and endears the characters to the reader with finesse. Wolf Hunted is the second book in the Curse of the Alpha series, and it is a fantastic follow-up to the first book, Wolf Cursed.

Killian is the alpha male who should become his pack's alpha, and Ivy is his right-hand lady and is fiercely loyal to him. Nothing more than that, but it is there. Enter a succubus and another otherworldly supernatural being, and their destinies no longer seem to be their own. The compelling storyline keeps you engaged with paranormal, supernatural action, suspense, drama, romance, and a bit of a mystery.

They need each other in more ways than one, but other loyalties conspire to keep them apart. Duty drives them, but passion and trust might just be a stronger force.

This is book two of the series. It does okay as a standalone, but it is a better experience if you read from the beginning.

The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting that just begs to be explored. The characters are excellent and we get to learn more about them throughout the book. The plot moves at a good pace with a nice mix of action and intrigue which definitely keeps things interesting.
Overall, another great entry to the series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Highly recommended.

Action packed adventure
A mission to find a curse, a fractured family that may be reuniting and quite a variety of characters makes for an entertaining read. The main characters are constantly on the move and often end up jumping from the frying pan to the fire. Just when you think they are backed up against a wall they find a way through.
This is book two of an ongoing series, so you really need to read book one to keep up. The characters were bouncing all around, running from enemies looking for allies, and trying to stay alive. An interesting plot, great characters, and a fun and entertaining read which I highly recommend. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

several confounding connections pose difficult to overcome challenges

Ivy and Killian are divided by kinds and histories and commitments, as are Killian as several to whom he is one way or another tethered or bound.

Can they survive their limitations in multiple universes? Is the connection between Ivy and Killian more a boon or a burden?

Ciaran too faces a painful love loss.

Might this turn out to be an asset to the survival of the others?

intense and dramatic realm crossing connections and disconnects.

Wolf Hunted picks up where Wolf Cursed ended but if you haven't read the first book I think it would be okay because you would be able to pick things up in context.

I love the fact that there is more to this story than romance. Watching the mystery unfold it feels like I am helping them in figuring things out. DN Leo is really good at engaging the audience.

Super great job! I hope this gets picked up and becomes a movie or tv series.

Book two picked up right where we left off in book one and it’s action packed, and full of danger, drama and magic. Suspenseful, this draws you in and holds on tight as we follow Killian and Ivy as Killian seems to be getting into more trouble and Ivy meanwhile is doing what she can to help him. It an exciting, thrilling and gripping addition where we discover more but also have more questions and I am looking forward to the next book.

I'm enjoying the series a lot but because there are so many unanswered questions, there are times in the book that I felt lost. I am certain that things will clear-up as the series progresses. Tons of action keep the plot moving and things are starting to heat up between Ivy and Killian. Looking forward to the next in series.

It's been a while since I read the first book in this series and I'd forgotten how much fun Ivy's life is. She surges from one adventure to the next throwing herself into the fray to save the people she cares about. In this book it is race to find Killian and then find the cure for his curse.

An absolutely fantastic second book and I'm on tenterhooks for the next one.

This book had a good story line, but felt that it did not flow. It seemed we jumped from one scence to another without the flow. That being said I like the storyline of How Ivy is suppose to be protecting Killian. She does her best, but other supernaturals get in the way. What will happen when Killian is kidnapped? Will his cousin help? Will the Goddess help? Will Ivy get herself in over her head?.

This book continues the story of Killian and Ivy right where it left off. I never knew what was going to happen next.

The story itself seemed a little chaotic and frazzled. It was a little hard to follow, but still good. Another cliffy to keep me hanging! Impatiently waiting to see what happens next.

Wolf Hunted, the second book of the Curse of the Alpha series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). After book one's ending, I had to immediately download book two. As expected, the writer came out of the gate running. I love an action-packed, fast-paced story and I wasn't disappointed. A lot happens so be prepared!
