So I finished doing my N3 Somatome Vocabulary book!! I really liked it, but I feel as if by itself it would have been very useless. I made some Anki flashcards with the words I was learning and I found that really effective together with the book's exercises. Tomorrow I will start doing the Kanji book, and with that I will have finished all the books on that series for N3!!!. After Easter, my plan is to start doing mock exams and extra listening exercises -it is my weakest skill. I am aiming to sit the July exam, I think If I keep studying at this rate I shouldn't have any issues with it.

This is a good study book that is laid out very well. However, it doesn’t do much to distinguish similar meaning words even when they are introduced in the same lesson.

The vocabulary generally felt very useful, and there's a good amount. I was slightly annoyed that the lists ALWAYS overflowed into the next page, giving less space for tasks, but I'm satisfied.

I really think this book series is great for studying intermediate to advanced level Japanese.
