A war is on the horizon, and it won't be good. Long before my birth, a war between supernatural creatures raged while a silent enemy watched with a smile. When the clans were weakened, the enemy stood and took over most of the country. That enemy was the human king that trapped me all my life. He was worst than the creatures that lurked in the shadows. He had one goal and one destiny, the extinction of all creatures. No one was safe from his wraith. My fate was predesigned for me before I was even born. The dragon shifter told me about my past lives and their ties to the Tree of Life, the source of all magic for the faes. Everything comes back to the Tree of Life, including me.The Sheep in Wolf's Clothing is a dark fantasy reverse harem novel, meaning the female main character doesn't have to choose between any of her monster men. This novel is intended for a mature audience.
Series Review: 4 Smutty “I don’t care about the plot” Stars
If you’re looking for Orc/Monster porn then this is the series for you!! Book one was the slowest burn of the series, I think it only had two sex scenes. After that…complete monster porn. It was great!
The writing wasn’t spectacular. There were a lot of grammatical and punctuation errors, but it wasn’t enough to throw me off the series. There were a few storyline inconsistencies, but no one is gonna read this series for the plot #OrcCock #SizeDifference #SmuttySmut. The world building was good, the character building was good, the relationship building was good. The smut was fire 🔥🔥🔥!!

I kept waiting for Arcadia to develop her defensive powers. She had a nice lil fight scene near the end, but considering her fae powers got stronger as the series went on it didn't make sense that she never used them to fight.
It was an ok ending.
The bdsm scene at the end where Zion tied her up and the rest of the guys were there was 🥵.
I wish the battle at the end was a bit more drawn out, the death didn’t impact me as much as a death would’ve because I felt like not a lot of emotion went into it for me, however I did enjoy the final Instalment for this series, I wish we got to see more of arcadia and her mates ruling bc she’s finally free and happy with no worries of the humans, i wanted to see more of the mystics and humans all living together! I love how much smut is in these books, it’s a nice fantasy book filled with smut that is so well written it makes me want to fan myself! the twists in this book had my jaw dropping, I was not expecting that twist with the fae queen, arcadia really went through so much to just have constant betrayals, im so happy the book ended with all the people she’ll ever need! the different mythical creatures were so interesting to read about and I loved seeing how many different creatures were in this world! all the characters were great, seeing their developments from where they started and where they’ve finished is so emotional to think about! overall, an amazing final book in the series with great characters, smut and plot!

Out of all the books Rune has written and I own every book. The Sheep In Wolf Clothing is my favorite series! Not only is she a great story teller but her character development is wonderful. She’s very detailed when it comes to everyone in her book and their background in the whole series and everything just flowed really nicely. At no point was I confused on what was going on.
Not only did this book make imagine the words come to life and painting a picture but it also made me feel so many emotions. Happy, excited, heartbreak, love I had “bish say what moment”multiple and at one point of the story my heart dropped but I can’t give it away. Just get book and trust me you won’t be disappointed.
This book series was absolutely mesmerizing. I was hooked on the first three books and have been so excited for the last book. I just read this last book all in one go in one day. I sorta wish there was more action and adventure in it but with the first three books having all of that it kinda makes sense. I love the relationship between Arcadia and all of her mates. I'm definitely adding these four books to my shopping list so I can have the paperback for home.
Decent close out to this series. I liked the quote, “All souls that met before will meet again.” The scars staying will never make sense to me. There were some twists I definitely didn’t see coming. This wasn’t really a war. More so a battle. If anything the previous war never ended.
How did the fae find Traeger and Rogue’s locations to destroy them?
Arcadia’s entire biological family was trash, except one.
Misspelled words. Grammar mistakes. Again, this book needed to be edited. Things were incorrect. On the same page, Arthur was her uncle and brother.
So I liked this series but I’m very confused on one thing…. If Arcadia snapped Oriannas neck how did she (Arcadia) end up dead again? Did she kill her or not. I’m so confused they never explained it and they all say “shes still alive, she’s still alive” so then what happened to her??? I could care less about the grammar I’m not here for it I understood what was happening. I’m here for a good time not a long time you know. But that one part is bothering me. Over a interesting story definitely my first orc romance but hey I didn’t hate it so there is that

The Sheep in Wolf's Clothing is a compelling addition to the Royal Fae series, filled with intrigue, romance, and richly developed characters. Rune Hunt keeps up the suspense, delivering twists that make this magical, complex world feel alive. The heroine’s journey is as engaging as ever, with layers of growth and resilience as she navigates the shifting loyalties and schemes within the fae court.
The chemistry and dynamics between characters remain one of the book’s strong points, and the slow-burn romance adds a satisfying tension that builds throughout the story. Hunt’s writing style captures the emotional complexity and high stakes, making it easy to stay immersed from start to finish.
While I enjoyed most of the journey, the ending didn’t quite land as I hoped—it felt somewhat rushed and left a few questions unanswered. However, the rest of the story was so engaging that it balanced out the ending’s impact.
Overall, if you’re a fan of fantasy romance with intricate characters, court intrigue, and a touch of mystery, The Sheep in Wolf's Clothing is a great read. It’s a satisfying continuation that leaves you eagerly awaiting what Hunt has in store next!
This is a good ending to the series. Tying up loose ends we finally see her with all eight of her mates and walk through each battle to get the her HEA. With equal part spice and twists to get to the end, this book will keep you on your toes. I will say that some of the transitions between POV and time jumps are very sudden and took me a second to understand what’s happening. Overall very good book. I loved it!
I am so sad to see it end but happy I got to meet Arcadia and her men. This series is one of those series that you want never to end. I absolutely loved getting to know Arcadia and her men and following their story. It is impossible to pick a favorite 😍. Rune never disappoints. Can’t wait to read what she publishes next.
I have been waiting for the final book to come out and it finally is. I can't say enough about the series as a whole. Its just amazing. A good group of men and all the hardships you need to fall in love with all of them. The ending is all I dreamed it to be, and you'll really love it too.
okay honestly this book was my least favorite in the series, i feel like the series started off really action packed with a lot going on, but then it just moved to her having sex all the time and like barely any plot around that, i felt like many parts of the plot were lost within the last two books
An intense conclusion to Arcadia's story! I felt a bit like I didn't get to know all the characters enough over this series as it was very fast-paced, but that did stop the story from ever reaching a lull. I think the book could use more editing for small mistakes, but it didn't deract too much from the overall read. Great HEA, wish we had more time with them post-war, though!
This was a really good series that I felt got better with each book. Between deaths betrayals and the amount of hot men it was an excellent choice that I will gladly read again
the grammar isn't the best and felt like this book jumped around a lot more than the rest of the series but it was such a good story. if you can't get over grammar mishaps though, not the series for you.
I love how this series kept me on my toes and I kept wondering what was gonna happen next. I love how it ended with a HEA. As usual I can't wait to read what rune releases next.
This was such an excellent finish to Arcadias story. I'm definitely sad it wasn't a bit longer as I could have easy read another 500 pages across all books with Arcadia and her men.
Rune continues to kill it with the characters and the story.
