Caught up in a desperate race against time, Spidy swing into action. (See what I did there?)

With no time to explain his actions and prove that he doesn’t belong on the FBI’s wanted list, he looks for help from fellow heroes, but ultimately turns to an old foe…

Never thought Spidey would take out Cap, and quickly at that!

Eh. I only read this issue because A hasn't gotten around to reviewing it yet, and I was curious. Still, I absolutely despise this run of Amazing Spider-man, and I wholeheartedly endorse A's reviews describing how misogynistic and illogical/offensive each individual issue has been.

Here, I'll take a stab--

This issue demonstrates how the "bad thing" that Peter supposedly did before the time skip (cringe storytelling, btw) was that he made a lot of enemies of his superhero friends because he was in such a rush to get back to a parallel dimension to save Mary Jane. He couldn't explain why he was in a time crunch, and he didn't really ask for "help." He tried to break into superheroes' labs, or demanded access to their labs, and that was about it. He was incapable of trusting Cap to take charge of the situation, and he was incapable of negotiating a better compromise between how Cap wanted to handle the situation versus how Peter wanted to handle the situation.

That's about it.

Mary Jane isn't actually in this issue, but she was treated as a damsel-in-distress nonetheless.

Actually, there are no female characters in this issue whatsoever, other than a brief appearance of Aunt May. May was also something of a damsel-in-distress, facing the looming threat of hospital bills. Norman Osborn is with her, and Peter --rightly-- treats Gwen Stacy's murderer the way that he should. But, the way the issue is written, we're supposed to think that punching Norman is equivalent to the oh-shit-you-shouldn't-have of punching Captain America.

To be clear, Norman Osborn arranged to murder and/or kidnap Peter's newborn daughter, May. That really happened in the 616 universe, even though writers have glossed over that for two decades. Modern fans don't realize that May Parker of the MC2 universe has a 616 analogue, even if that newborn infant is supposed to be considered dead. There is still the slightest chance that she is alive somewhere in the 616 universe. And this new, "good" Norman Osborn just makes that possibility all the more offensive. Is he ever going to share this information with Peter?

And if young May Parker really is dead, then that means the writers want us to believe that Peter would forgive the man who fucking murdered his baby!?

This one is a bit more interesting. Spidey is out of time, as MJ is stuck with the maths wizard in another dimension where time runs differently. He is haggard, he is broken and he is out of time and patience.

Solid issue. Spiderman is on the run, brought back from the alternate dimension he and MJ were sent to. Trying to figure out what happened and looking to get MJ brought back. I liked the tie in with some other of the other heroes…Cap, Torch, Thing.
