One year ago, Sheryl and her friends did something bad. Really bad. They ritually humiliated local girl Rachel Ritter, before posting the video online for all to see. After that night, Rachel left town and was never seen again.
Until now.
Late one night, Sheryl and her friends realize that Rachel's back. At first they think there's on reason to be concerned, but a series of strange events soon convince them that they need to be worried. On the outside, Rachel acts as if all is forgiven, but she's hiding a shocking secret that soon starts to have deadly consequences.
By the time they understand the full horror of Rachel's plans, Sheryl and her friends might be too late to save themselves. Is Rachel really out for revenge? What does she have in store for her tormentors? And just how far is she willing to go? Would she, for example, do something that nobody in all of human history has ever managed to achieve?
If You Didn't Like Me Then, You Probably Won't Like Me Now is a horror novel about the surprising nature of revenge, about the power of hatred, and about the future of humanity.
Amy Cross writes novels and short stories in a number of genres, mainly horror, paranormal and fantasy. Books include The Farm, Annie's Room, The Island, Eli's Town and Asylum.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, and you can't get much colder than the grave. Was this horror story a supernatural tale or a dark psychological thriller? I really don't know but I certainly enjoyed it. Two very unpleasant bullies lure a vulnerable young woman towards humiliation in a sick prank. Unbelievably, it is those very bullies who consider themselves to be the victims in this sick prank. No matter that they personally had perpetrated all the unpleasantness. However, will they get their comeuppance? Will a wrong be righted? This story left me with more questions than answers. That said, I am happy to recommend it to fellow devotees of the macabre.
I'm a small town there are bullies. Two of them, cause a humiliated girls death, or what they think is her death. How far would a person go to exact revenge ?
The characters in this book—Wow. I hated them so much. So much. So. Much. Sooooo with Muchness. K. Done with that for now. So it was like a semi-“Friends” girl character reunion. There was a Phoebe, Monica, and a Rachel. Then we had Sheryl. Sheryl was a huge, insecure, jealous, sour, dried up, old b!tch. Monica was a sheep, a spaz, and also deep down an evil person. Phoebe got caught up in it which was sad. If I was Rachel, I would have wanted them to learn a lesson too, but wow. When Amy Cross does revenge, the fur and the crap flies. The moral of course is treat ppl decently !!

I've never read a story quite like this one. You will be constantly turning the characters and circumstances around and around in your head trying to see if something is supernatural or staged, or what. I won't tell and steal the fun of figuring it out from you so read and enjoy. It is both fun, and a thinker. The best of both worlds. 😀 🤔
The mind is a fragile electronic mass of electruds that can and will tic up sending you into a different world ,that maybe ,just maybe all in your head .. Dutch
Did not like the writing style at all! Story had potential however it’s written in the style of she said xyz and then she said xyz and then she said xyz felt very dumbed down.
I’m truly baffled how this book has such a high rating. I only finished it because I hate not finishing a book and as it was relatively short I thought I’d just push through.
But the writing was not good. This felt more like part of the young adult genre. One of the characters just seemed to spend all of her time slapping other people round the face which got very tedious. Then how it all ties up in the end, I’m sorry but it felt laughable to me! I really want to say more on the ending but I won’t give spoilers, but it’s one of the worst and most unrealistic endings I think I’ve ever come across.
The only good thing this book had going for it was the intrigue of what happened to Rachel but even that got boring waiting to find out. The gore and horror aspects were good, that’s probably the only positive I took from this.
I don't want to be too harsh but this was ridiculous. I had really high expectations when I started this book but then it just got worse and worse. The writing itself was pretty mid and repetitive. I thought the alternating timelines would keep it interesting but it just made it seem too long. I expected the revenge to be more fun and gruesome but in the end it was pretty boring and rushed since the "revenge" didn't actually happen until the end of the book. And oh my god what was all the slapping about? If I took a shot everytime it happened I would be dead by the time I finished this book.
Really easy and quick read but some of the decisions seemed too silly for me. What even was the creature? I don't know, I wanted to know more about him. I also thought we didn't really learn much about who Rachel was as a person but I'm happy she exacted her revenge. I just think things could have been fleshed out better

I think it’s only right for a book with so much slapping in it to describe it as “it just didn’t slap for me” 😂. it was a quick, easy read & i didn’t hate it but it didn’t do much of anything for me unfortunately.
A dumb summer read. We all need a fun quick horror book. This is essentially it. A knock off Carrie novel, though the ending is lame. A quick read, so know what you are getting into.
