I read most of this series in December and had to wait a really painful month for the final book. I mean, that cliffhanger in book 5? What the hell. Whatever.
This series is fairly good. It's not perfect, I won't lie, but I've read a lot worse. I *love* the dynamic between Calla and Atlas, and would have loved to have seen more between Lex, Calla, and Atlas. Also would have liked more between Lex and Kade. I don't have any major complaints about this series, and the concept was fun, especially in the first book. I liked that it ended without marriage or babies, because that tends to be the default ending for most p*rn books.
I feel like there were a couple questions left unanswered upon the conclusion of the final book, and I can't remember if that's because they were answered in previous books or simply left unsaid (I have read *a lot* of books in the time since starting this series and waiting for this final book, so my memory is a little shot). Did we ever get a solid explanation on why Calla could resist glamour as a human? Or why she can hear Atlas's voice in her head after getting turned? Or why she and Lex (it was Lex, right? it certainly wasn't Atlas or Gabriel, and I don't think it was Kade) could dream-talk with one another?
I have a feeling that JA Carter set up for a series centered around Brighton as well as the Blood Magic series focused on Tessa, so those are two series that I'll probably read whenever they get published.
