Leaking Vessels is a new platform for writing by visual and performance artists. Moving between critical, conversational, autobiographical, and poetic approaches, the journal entangles theory, practice, and everyday life. For this first issue, we asked contributors to consider the journal’s title. Leaking vessels are porous sites where bodies, histories, and ecologies are constituted and contested. The pieces gathered here reflect on messy beds and menstrual art, ectoplasm and uncanny figuration, obsolete currency, rematriated cultural belongings, and more. Contributors include Juan Betancurth, Tsohil Bhatia, Agnes Borinsky, Lena Chen, Tara Fay Coleman, Matthew Constant, Jamison Edgar, Emily Johnson, Adil Mansoor, and Zoe Sandoval.
