An amazing book. It does well to capture the length and breadth of the intermingling of art, culture and place in Balgo. Carty provides a well articulated and expertly contextualised narrative, stepping through the history, change and continuing development of Balgo art, from pre-contact, through the mission times, to the fledgling days of painting on boards and canvas, to today. And with amazing images to boot. You should read this book!
