Not very helpful. It's very basic and any person can do their own research and get educated on their own. We got the book during the middle of recruitment and it didn't change anything we were already doing. She doesn't and can't really focus on any specific sport either which just creates more questions than answers.

Good info for recruiting for ANY sport. I knew a lot of the info from my husband, but was able to get more clarifying info, questions to ask, timelines, etc. My husband went through the process 20+ years ago, so a lot has changed (technology, email & social media being the big things), but a lot is still similar…the relationship part. The book made me feel more confident we’re on the right track and doing the right things. I have tips and info bookmarked for my daughter to read for her soccer recruiting journey that will really kick into gear after the new year. Enjoyed the book! 🤓

This book provided me with more questions than answers which is why I voted it a 3. It was very complex and I didn’t realize how little I understood about being a student-athlete. I will definitely have to read this book 4 or 5 times but it was a very fast read so I’m okay with it!

I would not recommend this book! It gives very general information and advice. My granddaughter did end up getting a scholarship, but it wasn't because of this book. Her parents had better luck striking out on their own vs getting help from this author. The author was quite rude and is all about her facebook page. She gets upset if parents ask too many questions, Let alone grandparents! Save yourself time and dont read this or follow the authors advice!

Nothing super surprising in here but has a lot of good advice directly from coaches mouths. If you are new to the recruiting process this will give you lots of good information. If you are won’t there are a lot of ah ha moments and ideas to make the process better.

This is super helpful and realistic book! All of the steps outlined here are easily found on the internet or in Facebook groups (the group associated with this book is super helpful and run by the author), but this book has all of the information in one place and it is easy for a student athlete to read and work through the process. I appreciate this author takes time to address the differences for Christian college athletes as well and how they should approach those programs.

I don't know if I have any collegiate athletes, and they certainly won't be getting full rides since they do not play head count sports. But I've heard from numerous people there is a place for every athlete that wants to play at the college level, and after reading this book I feel encouraged it is possible.

Also recommended: Watch "Uneven" on YouTube if you have an aspiring baseball player.

Not actually looking for a full ride, just insight into college athletic recruitment, as it is way outside of my knowledge. There is basic general information in this book that is definitely helpful. A little surprising that the author recommends starting the process as a freshman. That is wild.

Some sport specific advice would be helpful or just broken into team/individual sports.

I appreciate the repeated warnings for students to not get caught up in things that don't matter. Focus on the academics and atmosphere in case you break your leg. And don't be greedy, very few full rides exist.

This book is expensive and doesn't contain any info that you can't find online. Author is negative and seem like she's trying to talk your kid out of trying to get recruited. Her main point is that you won't get a full ride to play sports in college. Which is true, but why title the book that? I have a guess: $$$

I’ve been lurking in the author’s Facebook groups for months and they are great. I think this book streamlines what is often said in the Facebook groups and very clearly walks you through the recruitment steps. I’d recommend the book for a baseline and then the Facebook groups for more information.

Don't buy this book. It is not helpful or worth the price. Too vague and most of the tips are just common sense. Recruiters like the author and coaches are too judgmental and just push products instead of getting to know your kids heart and how great they are. There is no way a coach or recruiter can know there heart or character in 2 minutes. Author is very judgmental.

I didn't mind the read but I just had a ton of quotes from coaches. Which isn't bad if you're looking at what the coaches want/are looking for in a student athlete, It's just I was looking for something a little more detailed. In a case you're looking for that detail I would suggest a different book.

Is this book specific? No but it did give my family a good start toward what we need to do if my son decides to try and play sports in college and it showed my husband how much the recruiting landscape has changed since he was in high school.
