This book was created by the makers of the Simple Scrapbooks magazine. It's a great resource for people who want to create simple and contemporary scrapbooks. It's well organized and has all kinds of great tips for a beginner scrapbooker and examples to inspire advanced scrapbookers. There are plenty of ideas for scrapbook albums, layouts, journaling, use of colors and patterns, etc. Probably the best scrapbooking book I've read so far.
I originally bought this as an idea book because I knew that one of my favorite scrapbookers had an article in it. What I found though that it not only has some great lay-outs, it has some really informative sections (not all of them are helpful though for me) that I think will help me expand how I do my scrapbooking. Some highlights are the sections on developing your writing skills, the part about color combinations, and adding additional elements to what you already do.
2.5 stars. Generally, the examples are way too busy for my tastes (I think they are trying to sell more products.) Good basic ideas and layouts for beginners. Offers lots of encouragement. Covers everything from fonts to cropping to creating your work space to embellishments to album ideas. As a long time scrapbooker, I found it was NOT made easy, simply because there was so much in it.
This is a great book for scrapbookers. It has many ideas on scrapbook pages for people who have a lot of time and those who just have a little time. It also gives ideas on how to use color, handwriting and fonts, how to sort and store your stuff, and how to make digital pages. I found it very useful to get ideas and thought it was organized well and easy to use.
amazingly helpful and inspiring so far! funny b/c it's abt scrapbooks - but it is liberating me from the pressure to do it all and do it all elaborately! it can be simple and still look good! the first book of its kind that i am actually reading the articles - not just looking at the layouts!
Don't miss this and the other volumes from Simple Scrapbooks! It's so wonderful to have all the best right in one place. If you are a scrapbooker, this is a must-have for your inspiration library.
