I picked this book up at the library because I have noticed that many non profit jobs now meld grant writing in with other positions. In case I am ever up for one of these positions, I want to have some idea of what grant writing is all about. This was a nice, easy to read, how-to for grant writing. Nothing too elaborate, but a very simple how-to that I could see having on my bookshelf if I ever were to be in a position that also deals with grant writing. All of the chapters cover a different topic with regards to grant writing and each chapter is usually only a couple pages, max. I see it as a nice, dip my toe in the water sort of book, before delving into some of the more text book type books I also picked up from the library.

Not something I would read from pleasure, but definitely a helpful resource with regards to the basics of proposal writing. By no means a comprehensive guidebook, it's definitely more of a springboard into the proposal writing arena. The tone is easy to understand without being condescending, and even a little fun to read.
