Rate this book
THE RAGING FIRE By the time World War Two ended, 80 million people from every participating nation had been killed, either by direct conflict or as acts of willful murder. Total UK military war dead was said to be 451,000. Total US military war dead was said to be 420,00. Total Italian military war dead was said to be 500,000 Total French military war dead was said to be 600,000. Total Japanese war dead was claimed to be 1,300,000. Total German military war dead was said to be 7,500,000. Total Russian military war dead was said to be 8,800,000. In all, including all other nations, it is estimated that 80,000,000 people were killed in combat, or were murdered by advancing troops, or were exterminated in “work camps.” These numbers do not include troops who were captured and allowed to starve to death, nor are the numbers of civilian refugees who starved or froze to death or died from diseases during their flight from combat zones. The numbers of civilians who were murdered or imprisoned by the Communists are not known but may have been in the millions. Up to 40,000,000 Russians, military and civilian, may have died before, during and after the war. It is to all the dead from every nation that this book is respectfully dedicated.
