Entering the Famous Painting Contest, young artist Daisy explores the world of classic art for inspiration for what her subjects will be and eventually paints her own family members, in a humorous tribute to five great masters.
Unimpressive book but it doesn't help that it features some unimpressive artists either. I have personally never been a fan of Gauguin or Pollack. It really should have featured Matisse as her painting at the end is vaguely reminiscent of his style and he was actually talented. I appreciate that at least Chagall is here, he's not often brought up in kids books. Last, Van Gogh and Monet, while I love their artworks, are often featured in children's books about art.
