"The anointing is not some mystical something out there. The anointing is the power of God manifested. We could say that the anointing is the manifested presence of God." (Rodney Howard-Browne, The Anointing)
This book is about the anointing of the Holy Spirit - the power of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures say, "You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God ANOINTED Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38, emphasis mine). The author says, "Under the anointing, God can do more in two minutes than we can do in months" and "unfortunately, the Church is not meeting or fulfilling the need. Instead has become a referral system. Churches send alcoholics and drug addicts to rehabilitation places instead of setting them free by the power of the Holy Ghost."
The author talks about how the Bible doesn't say "the anointing breaks the yoke" (See Isaiah 10:27, KJV), but actually says, "the anointing DESTROYS the yoke" and that there is a big difference between something that is broken and destroyed. The anointing of the Holy Spirit will destroy that addiction, that oppression, that sickness, that disease, that financial lack....Amen.
God has anointed you, the believer, with the power of the Holy Spirit for a special work and to set the captives free!

This book has been more than a book to me!
Once I began to read this book many of the unanswered questions began to emerge into action in my life. Knowing that God wants to use me and knowing that I wanted to be used by Him became a reality in my life. Thank you so much Dr. Rodney Howard Browne for helping to bring clarity to what I thought was craziness.
