Take heart: most prodigals come home again. That is the message of this book. Part social science, part theology, part anecdotal, the research and stories will encourage those who love prodigals. Written with sensitivity and insight, citing many studies and the actual experiences of former prodigals, the surprising truth comes through loud and clear. 80% of them eventually return to the faith. This is good news. But the book offers more than that, with chapters on why they leave, what if they move into an abusive church, and lots of encouragement for parents not to be too hard on themselves during the prodigals' departure from the family's faith and/or values. The author's warm, thoughtful treatment is soothing as well as engaging. Highly recommended for those who know and love a prodigal.
