I don't usually enjoy a book that, gee I don't know the word for it, not gets spiritual, but basically goes to a magical place religiously. I suppose that describes it? Either way, I liked what they did here. It worked. I wish that some of the characters had had a bigger storyline.
Okay, as you can probably tell I downloaded the 1st 4 books in this series and went on holiday with the intention of doing as much reading as possible.
In my humble opinion, while this is a good read, it's not quite as good as the first 2 books. Saying that, I finished this on the plane and had to wipe tears from my eyes based on the epilogue.
The more magical and mystical elements of this book didn't resonant with me (until the ending) and the Merris and Glenn characters did kind of leave me going meh.
Still the quality of the writing shone through and while not the strongest in this series, still a very entertaining read.
Indeed an ensemble cast ...set like a Hollywood movie it was a good read but I had to keep reminding myself who was who. A touch on some spirituality and another near death....
