To be honest if I could give this zero stars, I would. The only thing that kept me reading was to see how much worse it got.

And by the end? It had become spectacularly worse.

I'm honestly baffled as to how this passed through the hands of an editor without anybody saying:

a) it bears only passing resemblence to Judge Dredd, I mean seriously, Dredd walks in on a Judge in the middle of having a Gin And Tonic, and doesn't immediately take action? Was this even written by somebody who has read Dredd before?!

b) It's seriously lacking any sort of story or narrative drive.

c) It has the most hilariously awful sex scene ever imagined. I mean, just, seriously, what? Judge/Pig? Really?!

A terrible, terrible book.

A very odd dredd novel

An interesting one, bit wackier than your average dredd novel but with a pretty bleak and sudden ending. Felt like an extended newspaper dredd short mixed with a little bit of a future shock story. Most of the characters were oddly off kilter or bizarre but the main character was nicely rounded and kept my reading to the end.

Has a lot of unnecessary padding until it gets to the fun part starting with the pig sex scene. The ending is also a consequence of the author writing himself into a corner.

I gave it one bonus star for being pointlessly vulgar, for having the ending I wanted and for having cover art and text that are a little deceptive, which always amuses me.

This was ok. More than a little stupid at times and not really Judge Dredd focused at all.

This is a hilarious novel. You get a view of Judge Dredd from another judge, which I really appreciated.
