‘Ilm al- ikhlāṣ – learning how to attain sincerity, taking stock of oneself, purifying one’s nafs (lower self) of showing-off, self-admiration, pride, envy, arrogance and base thoughts and feelings – is one of the most important branches of religious knowledge, and learning it is an individual obligation. This manuscript has been deciphered by Shaykh Wim Sulayman Van Ael, then translated into English and revised by a team of experts who have been an important part in the proces.
Has been a good wake-up call on the dangers of riya and the importance of intention. Many things a person could be unaware of. Stands at the basis of practising.
