This book sparked a wave of mystery in me that caused me to read another book of his and start to research the reality of Jesus and mysteries of the bible. This book is good. Bottom line. The only thing that is bothersome and tends to get in the way of the information is the obvious disbelief of Jesus. As a believer of Jesus and the bible stories that is the only hurdle i faced while reading this book. I have given it 4 stars for this reason only. Laurence Gardner is intelligent and a good writer but seems to unknowingly press his opinions on the reader. Other than that, the book was enthralling and it takes a scientific look at the Ark. Fascinating is the best way I can describe my feelings during and after reading this book. I would recommend to anyone but would also remind them to keep a grip on your personal beliefs and know that the author tends to turn away from facts and slide some personal throughs of Jesus into information driven chapters.

This book is densely packed with content, impossible to consume at a single read. It's very difficult to separate facts from fiction in most of it. What is not hard to identify, is the science fantasy/fiction and there is plenty of this.

It's somewhat biblical in the endless, "so 'n' so begets so 'n' so, who begets so 'n' so..." ad infinatum. For the reader who actually cares about this stuff I suppose it makes a good reference document.

The author clearly likes the ideas stemming from zero-point energy because there is a lot of fascinating stuff (or non-stuff, if you wish ;-) in the questions that physicists have revealed. But questions about reality, and our perception of it do not negate it. And most important it does not mean that any question is valid or even relevant.

Just because harmonic superspinning particles can defy our current notions of time-space reality, it does not mean that all reality is fantasy. Authors like Gardner trust the scientific methods that have revealed these things. By trusting it further, we can get to a trusted understanding of all of the implications of superconducting matter. In my mind we will not get there by trusting quacky speculations about the properties of an illusory Ark and words and more words from ancient or modern writers endlessly speculating about what the ancients were doing with this Ark. When, and only when, we uncover the Ark from its tomb on Oak Island ;-) will we be able to consider physical testing. Remember, Nullis in verba, which is approximately, "Take no one's word for it." (p. 264; Rosicrucian motto)

Good lord, the scholarship was poor on this one. When the author makes a case that a "field" in Egyptian mythology is actually a reference to electromagnetism because THE WORDS ARE THE SAME IN ENGLISH...

Gardner does his best to lay out a case that m-state gold is the foundation of the Messianic religions. How it is made in modern times, its super conduction properties and how it semi- levitates all fascinating. The difficult piece is trying to sell the reader on how ancient peoples created and used m-state gold as manna. Even with the Baghdad batteries, the artwork, scripture and archeological evidence...its pure conjecture. You need to buy into how Moses was in the Egyptian dynasty, plus that ancient conduction was capable of strong, steady electrical currents able to reduce gold and other platinum group metals to a singular atomic state. Gardener certainly tries to lay out evidence thoroughly, and if your understanding of science is a bit weak, you might buy into it. However, it doesn't take long to see the obvious problems of electrical conduction without a true grounding source, the fact that such an advancement was completely lost for millennia, or that there is zero evidence for its supposed health benefits. A neat theory for a Sunday afternoon, but ultimately, just that.

This and all the related lctures by Sir Laurence Gardner is one of ground shaking discoveries in the field of archeology and mythology while it is directly relates to anthropolgy.
In this book you get familiar with White Powder Gold which is monotomic ot sub atomic substance of 24k gold and has lot of miraclous effects on many aspects of our body and environment.
I really suggest to read this book.

Ugh, alternative history is not a thing! At least have some factual evidence if you claim it as history otherwise it just the museings of an eccentric.

Should put this book in the recycling

--A painstaking sifting of the available evidence in search of the "Ark of the Covenant," which has been the object of intense interest throughout history by kings, popes, generals, scientists, secret societies, alchemists, et al. So there's a lot to sift through. Everyone gets in on this act. Why? The ark supposedly contains, among other possibilities: mfkzt, shem-an-na, fire stone, philosopher's stone, or in more recent terms, ORMES/ORMUS, mon-atomic or high-spin white gold powder. So why the fuss over this stuff? Oh, just because of its reputed properties of superconductivity, anti-gravity, teleportation, and trans-dimensionality, not to mention phenomenal healing power.

So is it true? I dunno. It's a good story, tho. And he does tie it in with the matching modern experience of one David Hudson, who seems to have stumbled across the stuff on his Arizona ranch. So there's some real science for you. (For a screed on mon-atomic gold, check out Barry Carter at http://www.subtleenergies.com/ormus/t... )

Gardner's scholarship is nothing short of astounding. My only complaint is that, for my taste, he gets so far down in the weeds that it's challenging to stay awake. But he sure does connect a lot of dots, and provides the sense for many otherwise only curious historical events. Too bad Gardner is not still with us. (He is, by the way, the one who did the research on which Dan Brown shamelessly based his cheap novel, da Vinci Code.)

Sir Laurence Gardner was an incredible researcher and author. This is the first book of his that I've read. I thought it was going to be just another book about the search for the Ark of the Covenant - it was not a search but an illumination. His very thorough exploration of Biblical references and historical research led to his discovery of many connections between the two. Sir Laurence diligently searches through ancient texts and translations to establish a correlation between religion, history, science and gold cultures. The first part of the book sets the foundation for the transition of gold from an ancient metal used by kings to a modern substance used by scientists. Whereas modern scientists and theologians assumed the obsession for gold was for merely monetary and aesthetic reasons, Sir Laurence proves that its applications were more of a scientific and biological nature. The latter half of the book reveals the modern re-discoveries of these applications, as well as others, such as the ancient Babylonian batteries. Sir Laurence left no stone unturned in his search for the truth of the connection between the Ark, alchemy and the secret power of gold.

Laurence Gardner is my most trusted researcher and historian. I have read many of his books and I am always left astounded and inspired to look beyond what is taught as conventional history. What began for him as a project to research the genealogy of the House of Stuart, became a quest for the truth that rides the razor edge between historical myth and fact. He has painstakingly researched and stripped away the mythos and dogma surrounding biblical stories of legend and resurrected the lost secrets that have bobbed beneath the surface of the Underground Stream for thousands of years. Alchemy, Space Travel, Lost Civilizations,Secret Societies - he covers it all and encourages the reader to read between the lines of history instead of swallowing them whole and without question. The world lost a great mind when he passed in 2010.

I checked out this book because it was mentioned by author James Rollins as a source for information for his fictional thriller Map of Bones, which uses m-state gold as part of the story line. But this book is just bizarre. It is supposed to be non-fiction/religion/history, but many of Laurence Gardner's ideas are just too far out there to even consider. He starts out by saying that Moses was actually the Egyptian Pharoah Amenhotep IV, married to Queen Nefertiti, and the father of Tutankhamun (as in King Tut). And it just goes further afield from there. I was really hoping for some actual history about the Ark of the Covenant, but this just turned into something even more out there than the fictional DaVinci Code.

On thing that Laurence Gardner does well, is research. This book is no exception. I was particularly drawn to the references on monotamic gold, this resonated very heavily with me. It is an interesting read, however Ai am not sure it is a book that will resonate with everyone.

Gardner makes some real leaps in imagination and in theory in this book. He also attributes the Letter to the Hebrews to St. Paul, so his scholarship is suspect IMHO.

Although Gardner's theories about monotamic gold and its powers are way out there, they have given me plenty of literary fodder.
