The title of this book makes it sound like a romance novel, but this book by Fodors is a great little hardcover book showing pictures with a short write-up about odd 'magical' places to stay in America!

The ones that were appealing to me are:

p.10 Lake Powell Houseboat Glen Canyon Arizona/Utah.

p.32 Caesars Cove Haven in Pennsylvania (If I could get over my germphobia I thinnk that I would love the Champagne shaped hot tub!)

p.34 Lake Bedew Yurts in Biundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area, Minnesota.

p.42 Little Palm Island in Little Torch Key, Florida.

p.50 Out and abour in Takilma Oregon. Treehouses in the majestic Siskiyou range!

p. 52 McCoy's Mill in Franklin West Virginia.

p.58 Inn at Quaker Square in Akron, Ohio.

p.64 Jules Undersea lodge in Key Largo, Florida.

p.70 Gem Peak Lookout Tower Montana

p.74 Waikoloa Village in Kamuela, Hawaii

I really wanted to like this book because I love to travel and am always seeking fun and new experiences. But the writing was just too distracting. At a recent book club, a former AP English teacher talked about how some students tried so hard to be creative their overuse of flowery phrasing made her gag. This book was a great illustration of an author trying too hard. It does contain fun resources if you can ignore the writing.

Such a fabulous premise but, alas, the writing is that of a middle-schooler who just got a thesaurus and tried to cram every descriptive adjective possible into every sentence. Many of the photons are truly mediocre. Most of the destinations are pretty interesting, but with are now permanently closed. This book was never great, but with the passage of time, it’s truly not worth the time—so glad I didn’t pay for it!

This is a very nice book filled with colorful pictures and a beautiful writing style. It's an easy read and quite enjoyable and once you start reading, you don't want to put it down as each page turned is a new adventure. If you enjoy traveling and finding different places to travel to and stay for a unique experience, then give this book a read and enjoy.
