This is a suggestive romance (love scenes are not graphic) What's the secret?Sweet, timid Molly disappeared after another violent argument with her abusive, drunken husband Paul Proctor. The elderly sisters who witnessed the latest fight believe that this time he's killed her, and go to Homicide Detective Lieutenant Terry Ross to report the crime. Skeptical, Ross talks to Mr. Proctor, who reluctantly admits to the fight but insists his wife has merely gone away to "pout" and will return. Ross notes her car, clothes and purse are still at the house and he also discovers tiny blood drops and a shard of eyeglass.Adding to the complicated investigation are an ambitious reporter, a politician with his own agenda and an eager mistress. The most dangerous threat for the happily married detective may be his growing attraction to a beautiful, seductive woman with secrets of her own, who may very well hold the key to the mystery of Molly Proctor.Publisher This is a revised version of Ms. Stewart's Bloody Dagger-nominated, previously published novel.

Awful book. As romantic suspense goes this was neither. Nothing romantic about a husband who is "happily married" cheating on his wife with a woman he has known for one hot minute. I can handle cheating in my books if it is done right. This was not. And nothing suspenseful happens either. I had this book figured out for the beginning but didn't officially give up until Det. Terry's downfall.
