This is a nice, concise text that clearly explains what can be very complicated grammatical points in French. This particular book does not have any exercises that help to illustrate the grammar points discussed therein, and depending on your point of view that could be either a plus or a minus. I found the explanations particularly easy to follow; the book contains charts that that help to distinguish the various tenses and the subtle differences between, e.g., the subjunctive and conditional moods. This book, along with a 500 French Verbs book, and a solid French-English dictionary is enough to read just about any French text, no matter how difficult.
