Gina's Rules for Vampires on Surviving Super Spy School 1. First, the dirt and sweat are just too horrible to contemplate. 2. Going goth to infiltrate a high school and see who's messing with supernatural powers means no color palette to speak of. And don't even get me started on the shoes. 3. Making out with your vamp-stud boyfriend while hunting down evil rogue vampires, unless it's part of your cover, is totally grounds for extra push-ups. 4. When going goth, you've totally got to strike words like awesome and phat from your vocab. 5. Who's running this spy school, you ask? I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you. 'Course, then you might become one of us—the few, the proud, the fangtabulous. Lucienne Diver interviewed by RT Book Reviews
Lucienne Diver is a literary agent with The Knight Agency and also the author of the Vamped young adult series—think Clueless meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer—and the Latter-Day Olympians urban fantasy series from Samhain, which Long and Short Reviews calls “a clever mix of Janet Evanovich and Rick Riordan”.
Her short stories have appeared in the KICKING IT anthology edited by Faith Hunter and Kalayna Price (Roc Books), the STRIP-MAULED and FANGS FOR THE MAMMARIES anthologies edited by Esther Friesner (Baen Books), and her essay “Abuse” was published in DEAR BULLY: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories (HarperCollins).
Her first young adult suspense novel, FAULTLINES, is a November 2016 release from Bella Rosa Books.
On a personal note, Lucienne lives in Florida with her husband and son, the two cutest dogs in the world, and enough books to fill an entire store and perhaps some day collapse the second floor of her home into the first. She likes living dangerously.
Great funny kick ass read. The dialogue is sharp, witty, and dead on. The plot is excellent. The only disappointment was that the romance dial was set to cold. I was looking forward to seeing Gina’s relationship grow. Maybe in the net one????

Gina Covello's life described in six words: Still a vampire, also a spy!
However, not so much one of those sexy spies like on Alias or anything.
After defeating the vampire vixen who turned her current boyfriend, Bobby, and taking a deal with the Feds that offered protection, Gina is back with a vengeance... well, not a vengeance, more like a mission. Turns out the Feds needed Gina and her minions to go undercover and help them solve some mysteries.
Gina's current mission? Go to Maureen Benson High and pose as a new student, Geneva Belfry, who is recently divorced from her parents. Sounds easy, especially with Bobby going undercover at the same school with his "twin brother," Rick. The only problem is... Gina must go GOTH! So much for a wardrobe allowance.
Regardless of her current state of forced fashion, and terrible living quarters, Gina must complete the assignment as to why the smart ones are becoming dumber and the jocks are becoming even more vicious, and the students as a whole are acting more vacant during school than the normal teenager would.
Add in a little jealousy, romance, a new, nasty nemesis who is preparing for yet another battle, and once again the hilarious view of the world through Gina's eyes, and you get REVAMPED, the kick-butt sequel that everyone has been waiting for. As always, Gina does everything with sass and style, even if she dreads what she is wearing, and her interactions with Bobby aren't so bad, either!
Lucienne Diver gives her fans a follow-up to VAMPED that will satisfy them but leave them wanting just one more sequel, or maybe two.
Author Lucienne Diver has created a unique and captivating series. Her protagonist, Gina Covello rocks!
A touch of romance, some humor and suspense makes it for a pleasurable read—a charming saga sure to hook any YA reader. Heck, you don’t even have to be a YA reader to enjoy reading it.
If you want to escape to an awesome world of vamps in action, I highly recommend reading Vamped and Revamped. Can't wait to see what Gina does next!
Congrats to Lucienne for creating such a great story.
I like this one better than the first one because she was less vain. Well written although I did want more of her and bobby only because I felt bad, they were always kept apart.

After the events of Vamped, where Gina Covello, Bobby and their crew of vampires defeated Bobby's dame (maker), they are forced to work for the feds, or be killed. If they try to run, the will be hunted down. Gina is still getting used to the fact that she's been turned by Bobby.
Gina, Bobby, and Rick the rat are given a mission by Agents Sid and Maya, their handlers, to infiltrate Maureen Benson HS to find out why students have gone missing.
Gina is assigned to be a Goth girl; which if you read Vamped, you know that Gina is a fashionista (her words), and would rather toss them away, then wash them.
The feds have come up with a mixture in Bobby and Gina's blood so that they can actually be out in the daytime and stay awake vs being unconscious. Gina worries the entire time about side effects, which are quickly ignored.
Gina befriends Ulric, Bryon, Bram, Bella, and Lily. Ulric's character is probably the most likable, while Bram got the worse of it when they show up at a rave party and he is hurt.
Alistair, the evil vampire from Vamped, shows up in this book and it's because he is looking for Rasputin, his maker, who Gina runs into while watching the battle of the bands.
AListair had previously warned Gina that if he ever ran into Bobby or her again, they would be dead. Alistair actually saves Gina when Bella, who was working with Raspy, injects her with garlic and then pushed off her balcony. This comes closely on the heels of being attacked by an unknown person in a movie theater. Luckily she is rescued by Maya.
Rasputin has put together a group of minions, including Rick, that want to make the humans unwilling hosts for the vampires they newly breed.
Ms Driver is obviously a great agent, (wish she'd be mine!), but with these YA books, she's carved another niche for herself as a pretty decent writer. I like Gina. She may have issues at time, but she also has a wicked cool power in that vampires can't control her. Which is why the council wants her and Bobby so much.
Definitely looking forward to the next release Fangtastic and Fangtabulous to be released over the next two years.
ReVamped is the second installment in Diver's delightfully written Vamped series. Like the first, ReVamped tells the story of high school senior Gina Covello, vampire extraordinaire. With her not so quick wit, but quick sarcastic come backs, and a kick-ass attitude, Gina is the ultimate teen vampire.
There are strange happenings Wappingers Falls. Many teens are becoming more aggressive while others seem to be waking around in a daze. Grades are dropping, even among the geeks. Gina, Bobby, and Rick-the-rat; now working undercover with the spooks, must find out what's going on and stop it.
Though the story line is basically the same as the first book; a master vamp wanting to create an army of teen vampires, it still flows nicely and seems pretty logical. How else would a vampire move up in the ranks unless they have an army of minions?
I love that Diver introduced the infamous Rasputin into the mix. It adds a nice bit of historical lore, and makes the story all the more enjoyable.
I would liked to have seen a little more in regards to the development of Gina and Bobby's relationship however. I didn't feel the closeness of them in this book, and apparently neither did Gina herself, as she seemed to be very attracted to Ulric.
Another great one day read by Diver that left me smiling in the end.
"Revamped" by Lucienne Diver, was quite the interesting book, despite the fact that I picked it up without knowing it was a continuation of a series. The story is about a group of people in an organization (that I think is against the vampire government) who goes out to a town to investigate the recent strange activity of the school premise. Never have I ever read a story dedicated to vampires, so I chose to expand my horizon, and chose this book. Overall it was pretty good; the romance was also expanded on quite a bit, which I enjoyed the most, unlike other books. Although I wasn't exactly pleased to have seen that some secondary love interest, (who I liked more than the primary love interest), was only meant to exist in this book. I found this character to be more lovable and was elaborated with more than the first, but that may be because it is the second book. The book was quite good up to about sixty-five percent of the way in when things that had to be known from the prior book, came into place to describe certain characters. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone, unless they read the first book, since they might like it more if they would know the series beginning unlike me. Overall it was pretty good, besides love interests with no chance being introduced, since I can't truthfully enjoy books that do that, since it is unnecessary.
Recently turned fashion diva, Gina, now has to go Goth and return to high school to find out why the students are missing, skipping and generally becoming weirder than your average teenager. She, Bobby and Rick infiltrate the school and discover a plot deeper than anyone ever dreamed... oh, and Mr. sparkly rainbows, the unicorn. Say what?!
This book is a nice easy read. For me it was a little refreshment after some heavier novels and a nice way to pass my break time at work. The writing is average and the story has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting, but no true OMG! moments. Are you a vampire lover looking for something fun and light to take to the beach or on vacation? Then this is your read.
If you didn't love Vamped, that's ok. If you've stuck with the series anyway, you will see a defininite improvement in the overall writing and storyline. Gina is still a spoiled brat, but she does seem to be growing up a bit, which is something a lot of people had a problem with in the first book. Just like any teenager, these things take time.
Overall I enjoyed the progress this author is making in her storytelling as well as her character development. It's not perfect, but getting better and better. The story is kind of cutesy with some action and interesting developments.
I finished Lucienne Diver’s second book in her YA series, Revamped. I liked this one much better. There are spoilers here so reader, beware.
From Book 1, Vamped, Gina and Bobby – the girlfriend/boyfriend vamps – are forced to work with the Feds. I guess this organization oversees paranormal activity. In Book 2, Gina and Bobby along with Rick get deputized, trained and assigned to investigate some strange occurrences.
I love the the main character Gina and her catch phrases and nicknames she gives people she comes in contact with.
ReVamped finds Gina, Bobby & Rick working with the FBI. They are given their first assignment to go undercover as highschool students....strange behavour & disappearences....special pre-bottled blood for Gina & Bobby...makes for an interesting story!!
While the MC, Gina, was rather vapid and annoying in Vamped, it was still a cute & quick read. Unfortunately, for ReVamped, Gina became even more vapid and annoying. Her personality made this book incredibly irritating to read. In the end, it was a complete waste of time.
Gina, a new vampire working for the government as a spy, is not too happy with her newly-assigned role as an emancipated minor Goth girl at a high school where unexplained odd things are happening, but she quickly makes some friends with the local Goth group,& is shocked to find out who is causing all the problems. A light quick read!
Move over Buffy...there's a new vamp in town! Fashionista Gina Covello and her minions go undercover for the Feds. Witty and sharp (no pun intended) dialogue, lots of action and plot twists. Add in some current teen issues (bullying, violence, making grades and dealing with clicks) and you have a kick-ass read appropriate for tweens and teens alike.
ahh i really really like this series. yes i am a sucker for vampire/witchy books apparently. i totally love the main character Gina. she is hilarious. && i like that she likes the nerdy guy bobby. i also like ulric too. i actually have 8 pages left to read but my ereader's battery died. can not wait to figure out what else happens & then on to the next book of the series. :)
This book was a blast! An original, funny romp into the world of teenaged vamps, who are only shiny if they're wearing lip gloss! The follow-up to Vamped, it had even more action and more snarky humor. Loved this book!
I love the amount of sarcasim and the personality of gina. it is so entertaining. really interested to see how the other books pan out but wish there was just a little bit more depth to these books so that you understand a little better as to what is going on...
