Georgie Lee Lee is a cow. The sweetest, strangest, smartest, funniest, most inquisitive, and most mysterious black and white cow you will ever meet. You will love Georgie Lee. J. D. is a boy. J. D. loves adventure and hiking and the neighborhood dogs and haunted houses and riddles and Luna moths and swimming and spending the summer on his grandmother's farm. J. D. does not love Georgie Lee. Not yet, anyway. She's only a silly old black and white cow, and J. D. doesn't think she's smart or funny or nice at all! But there is an entire summer ahead. And almost anything can happen on Grandmother's farm. In fact, it probably will.
This is more than a simple story of a boy’s experiences on his grandmother’s farm. It is beautifully written and full of quiet wisdom and the sweet relationships among the humans and the critters and the wonders of the natural world.
This is a cute little kids book about life on a farm in the country. There's a quote in the back from the main character, J.D., that says, " I wonder why people say the country is boring?" His grandmother replies, "Maybe because they've never been here before." I think that about sums up country living!
