Freak Unleashed

Rate this book
Kendall Stevens has been faithful to her man (David) for the past 7-years, when all of a sudden she comes home to find the house empty and that David has left her to be with one of her co-workers. Having placed her whole existence into a marriage that was ‘supposed’ to last forever, Kendall struggles to keep from going crazy, as she still has to go to work everyday and see the very woman (Johanna) that stole her man. Johanna, a lying back-stabber, has never liked Kendall. They’ve had it out for each other from day-one. In fact, Johanna is constantly trying to get Kendall fired. But when Johanna finally gets the chance to meet Kendall’s husband at a company event, she sees her opportunity to do the ultimate dirt. Though Kendall was caught off-guard by David’s abandonment of their marriage, as she reflects, she realizes that there were clues and maybe they weren’t meant for each other. Still, she’s conflicted about her true feelings about David and about whether or not she wants to seek revenge! Through this time of turmoil, Kendall relies on friends for advice. Felicia, a friend of Kendall’s from college is the last person Kendall should listen to – ‘cause she has man problems of her own – can’t keep one. Isabella, is a very sexy woman of Puerto-Rican and African-American decent, who Kendall meets through work. She encourages Kendall to brush her shoulders off and get back into the dating game like never before. Though Kendall had been reserved in her sexuality in her years with David, it doesn’t take long before she realizes that men are everywhere and she’s definitely got what they want! Now, there ain’t no shame in her game, as she repeatedly gets what every woman needs -- even if it only lasts for one night – just as long as it’s a really long night! When David finally recognizes that the grass ain’t greener on the other side, Kendall has a surprise for him and his coochie-hoochie. A secret she’s learned and held onto can lead to prison time for Johanna as payback -- if she reveals it!

This book is the reason the phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover" was coined. I hadn't gotten a good look at the cover when I ordered this and never really looked at it good when I received it eithier. I ordered it solely based on the excerpts I saw. Thankfully I didn't dwell on the cover or I'd probably not have gotten it. The cover portrays the book awful. They make the book seem trashy and very sexual, at least that was my opinion of it. I was a little leery to even read it but figured I'd give it a try since I could always stop. Well, I found out that it's a pretty good book. A book that would probably reach many more hands if it were properly shown. The story covers Kendell Stevens who is married in the beginning of the story. Her life revolves around her husband David, who is the third man she's been with in her life. David ups and leaves her for a co-worker and her life is turned upside down. She has friends, Felicia, Jeannette and Isabella, to help her through and they also help the story progress and a good speed. I'd probably give it three and a half stars really if I could. In the middle and end there are some situations that made me want to scream, that's how into the main character I got. LOL I'd recommend reading but definitely have to say don't pay any attention whatsoever to this book cover.

What Freak

Kendall is married with a thriving career. Without warning it appears that her life has been gravely changed. David, her husband, has left refusing to acknowledge her. Blown completely to pieces, Kendall is struggling in an effort to maintain her sanity. It's bad enough that the man you vowed eternity has gone astray, but to find that he's with someone you know and see on a daily basis is a bit much. As Kendall begins to rebuild and recover her loss of self, David makes an appearance. Will she continue her healing process?

Story line starts out very slow. At some point I asked myself what the hell she is babbling about. It is not until she FINDS herself that the title even relates to the story.

I'd say helpful for those in Kendall's shoes.

The title and cover of book have nothing to do with the book. Kendall was dumb and annoying and started to disgust me. It did start off pretty good though.
