I read a lot of books about healthy eating and have come to the conclusion that an anti-inflammatory diet is the right choice for me. Sometimes I feel like I’ve read so much about it, that I could just go ahead and write the book myself. I definitely could have written this one. It is both extremely basic and occasionally just downright wrong (or at least contradictory to most other advice about certain foods). It does, however have a good spinach salad recipe.

I've been doing research recently into gut health, the gut microbiome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, leaky gut, probiotics etc., as well as having done a year of research into food allergies and intolerances. I not only didn't like this book but I thought it was bizarre that they included information which other sources would say was simply incorrect. They recommend canola oil for cooking etc and dismiss coconut oil as a 'bad fat' when it actually contains a different form of saturated fat and is a recommended oil for cooking because olive oil changes its structure when heated for a prolonged time (i.e. when doing stir fries).

It gives a lot of good information in a way a lay person can understand.

This book did have good information but was more for heart patients and was about losing weight. Only a small amount of it was related to sugars and food intolerance. It had goof information on reading labels.

Horrible. Recommends inflammation inducing oils like corn and canola. Recommends statins. Tells you avoid coconut oil which has been shown to reduce inflammation. Tells you to eat grains. Is this a joke?

More useful for general healthful eating; suprisingly unfocused on anti-inflammation and inflammation reducing foods.

Not sure why I bothered reading this.
Eat more fiber, only whole grains. Limit bad fats, cholesterol.
Fish/ Flax good. Refined foods bad.
More vegetables and fruits.

Basic stuff.

Details in a simple manner the basis of the diet. Describes an overall general healthy diet. Somewhat simplistic.
