English (but not so good) / Italiano
This comic is amazing, story, illustrations… even more read now that it’s so cold.
And, last but not least, how badass are they?!

Italiano
Questo fumetto è fantastico, la storia, le illustrazioni… ancor di più letto ora che fa così freddo.
E, ultimo ma non meno importante, quanto sono cazzuti loro?!

Despite its simplicity and the incongruity of its first and second parts, this book serves up enough atmosphere per page to justify a recommendation especially for any fans of the Alien franchise.

Tyranids infested planet is not place you want to be at. The sergeant of the imperial guard wants to get his men hom and there is a group of space marines to deal with too. It is warhammer 40k, the happy endings are with different flavor here.

Mixed feelings:

On one side there are awesome and evocative images, with a very well-described atmosphere: you can really feel the cold and desperation of the Imperial Guards.

On the other hand the story taken as a whole is really, really idiotic (no spoilers).

Poprawna siepanina w dalekiej przyszłości. Wydanie tip top jak większość rzeczy z black liblary. W porównaniu do poprzednich edycji obrazki są w kolorze.

A bit short and a very quick read but the images are fantastic. I appreciate the older Warhammer graphic novels and hope we see more new ones as well.

It's a quick action based story that successfully captures a sense of Warhammer 40k atmosphere. It's always fun to see Imperial Guard interact with Space Marines and how they view them. The art is evocative and good.

I decided to read this graphic novel due to the characters and Warhammer 40k universe race which it follows. Also, I am a huge fan of the works of Dan Abnett having read a lot of his work for the Black Library, especially his work in the Warhammer 40K universe. I thoroughly enjoyed his Eisenhorn and Gaunt’s Ghosts series’ in addition to his contribution to the Horus Heresy omnibus.

Another reason for picking up Lone Wolves was the striking front cover depicting a stoic faced Space Wolf. I have been fascinated by the Space Wolves since reading William King’s Space Wolf omnibus. Captivated by their customs and in awe of their manliness and ferociousness, the Space Wolves are a race of living legends and warriors with feral characteristics.

Karl Richardson’s art within the book is sharp and strong and illustrated the battle scenes in full and brutal glory. It also supplemented a compelling story plot. A story which follows the plight of a small regiment of imperial guardsmen stuck on a frozen ice world, a world which has been infested by the most rapacious xenostreed in the galaxy, Tyranids. With no hope in sight and food rations completely diminished, men start to fall into madness and die at the teeth and claws of the Tyranids. Salvation appears in the form of the Space Wolves, warriors of inhuman skill, size and strength. This is one hell of an action packed graphic novel containing chain swords and war hammer wielding, resulting in plenty of blood splatter. Together the Space Wolves and Imperial Guardsmen must face the countless swarms of Tyranids.

This is a story of fear, hope and courage, with compelling characters and a fast paced, action packed story plot. This is a graphic novel I would highly recommend to anyone fascinated by the Warhammer 40k universe and also the fans of Sci-fi fantasy and action.

This is a graphic novel and probably one of the best published by BL. I usually don't read graphic novels but for BL I open an exception. This is a story of a dying world at the hands... well claws or something like that of the Tyranids. There's nothing to do about it. They are already stripping the life out of the planet making it a Dead World. There's an Imperial Guard unit stranded on the planet trying to escape. As they walk through the snow they are attack by the Tyranids and twice they are saved by the Space Wolves who are killing as much as possible of the Swarm before escaping the planet. I won't say retreating because it's not retreating per se. It's... "re-locating".

The drawings are great and you read it all in one time. It's fast as Space Wolves bikes and intense. As a 40k piece there isn't a happy ending because the future is grim.

Advisable to anyone who loves Warhammer/40K or beautiful graphic novels.

The Space Wolves are my chapter. Thet are brutal pragmatic unromantic killers and this graphic novel reinforces this image. The use of human characters of the Imperial Guard serves as a mirror to show that Space Marines, especially the wolves, are not just not human but INhuman. They live by an enviable code that stresses independence, fatalism and strength. This graphic novel sees the Imperial Guard being rescued by the wolves. The guard have a good collection of character types that meshes well with the wolves; they play off each other in the face of the tyranid menace they are all trying to escape.

Bitchin' graphic novel. Forsaken imperial guardsman fight ravenous Tyranids and an ice plant. The Space Wolves save the day but the bugs prove too much. Dan Abnett knows how to make heroes compelling and sympathetic. The art really sticks with you.

This was fun. Space Wolves are not my favorite, but this was a really cool portrayal of them. Especially enjoyed the double meaning of the One Shot comic in the end of the graphic novel.

Fantastic art, vaguely interesting but incredibly brief story that doesn't really go anywhere or do anything.

Interesting art and gives a very superficial picture of the Space Wolves. Very short stories, and not that fun.
