How to Master Life: The Science Behind "The Secret"

Rate this book
The Secret has done an excellent job of raising awareness about The Law of Attraction but falls far short of explaining how we subconsciously create our own circumstances, or can do so consciously and with intent. This book fills that need. In 1904 an Englishman, Thomas Troward, presented a series of lectures at Edinburgh University in Scotland, called, "The Edinburgh Lectures on Mental Science." A true genius who was a century or two ahead of his time, Troward s theory explains why and how The Secret works. Troward also explained how an individual can put it to work for his or her benefit. Unfortunately, Troward wrote his lectures in the scientific vernacular of his day, making his theory incomprehensible to all but a few academicians. Now prizewinning author and noted metaphysician (Keys to the Kingdom) Stephen Hawley Martin has translated the lectures into plain English and included them in this book along with helpful commentary. The benefit is this. If you want to put The Law of Attraction to work -- if you want to create the life you dare to imagine -- How to Master Life is the only book you need.

Thomas Troward was a judge in British-administered India, where he made a personal study of the teachings of Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. After retiring from the bench in 1896, he applied his legalistic mind to matters of philosophy, and began lecturing and publishing on "Mental Science," eventually becoming president of the International New Thought Alliance.
