Closed: A COVID-19 Picture Book

Rate this book
2020 is a year that will never be forgotten. This was the year that coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19, became popularly known as a contagious and potentially life-threatening virus. The world as we knew it changed. Businesses closed or modified their hours, while re-routing entries and exits. The new trend became the face mask or handkerchief and gloves. People were either considered to be essential or non-essential workers. For some time periods, the citizens were asked to stay at home. Unemployment rose to epic numbers. Public gatherings were cancelled and right now, many remain with restrictions on attendance numbers. Children are also learning how to cyber school from home. While the facts surrounding the virus are still unknown, the effects of life itself in every town was changed. This picture book is a compilation of photographs from March 2020 up to October 2020 which show hints of what humanity was like in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and with some photographs from West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. Perhaps by seeing our past, we may redesign our future.
