Mining for Gold

I have this thing for words, especially those containing secret fire, like empathy and mystical. Empathy seems a mild word, warm perhaps but hardly fiery. Mystical seems vague and murky enough to connote anything but ardor. Wise elders of our species in the pages ahead will help us see deeper, see empathy as a blazing mountain to climb, see mystical as burnishing gold buried beneath our feet.
