this book strikes an excellent balance between narrative and guidance for the acoustics designer. many texts like this are for students or non-acousticians with limited background in acoustics. this book is appropriate for experienced designers.

Experienced acoustician J. Christopher Jaffe explains how he became one of the most important architectural acousticians in US. Many examples and case studies. Quite easy to read, but could be a bit more catchy.
